Ultimate Day of Thrills Itinerary Changed? Lack of options in April?

The tour used to include Animal Kingdom. Now it says Epcot, but only for Soarin'.

I called..the person I spoke to didn't really have any answers.

Does anyone here know if this is a permanent change?

Wanted to add to this.. Checked the April calendar and there are no Star Wars tours listed for the month, and only one Early Morning Magic at MK.

Is it possible that new experiences could be on their way? It seems odd to not offer any options during such crowded weeks.

I've been wondering about the park time calendar for that time frame too. We go every year for spring break late mid March (17-26 this year) and they have MK closing at 9 pm nightly with one exception of an evening emh but that still only puts the park closing at 11pm. Seems crazy for that time of year. I also heard for the time being no emh at dhs for at least a while, maybe due to construction?

I don't know. It's so strange. I am considering (not even close to mind made up) going for a quick 3 nights during Easter week. (Kid's birthday request). I had wanted to do the ultimate day of Thrills last time, but it didn't work with our schedule. Apparently the itinerary has changed since December, and I don't think it's "worth it" now that Soarin' has replaced EE and Dinosaur.
So then I checked for Early Morning Magic or the Star Wars tour. The only Early Morning Magic day in April is on 4/25 (we won't be there on that day) SW tour- 0 days.

Doesn't make sense for such a busy week. I'm sure regular hours will be extended during the crowded weeks though.

I think you still have hope for March and longer hours. I want to say our Nov/Dec trip had the hours change about a month prior.

Totally agree it's really weird. I'm hoping the hours will be extended too. It's such a busy time to be there but we are slaves to school breaks so it is what it is. Good luck with your plans!

I could be wrong, but I thought that change happened a few months ago

Easter isn't until April 16th this year. I'm willing to bet that's a large reason for the hours being listed as what they are. They may extend them somewhat, but I wouldn't expect holiday week type hours to come.

It wasn't that way in November, or at least not the beginning of the month.
This report is from someone who had a tour sometime in November. The post was made October 16th, when they were made aware of the change.

I'm a bit (a lot) aggravated right now and thought I would turn to my fellow DISers for advice. My family of 4 has an Ultimate Day of Thrills VIP tour booked in November and I just received phone call from Disney telling me that the itinerary has changed, a change I'm not happy about and am considering cancelling. The tour is expensive ($299/person) and is something that is a splurge for us as this is a special occasion. The original itinerary was as follows: MK (rides included 7DMT, BTMRR, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, HM, Buzz), HS (lunch at Brown Derby, TSMM, Star Tours, RnR, TofT), Animal Kingdom (Dinosaur, Everest). The new itinerary has us going to Epcot instead of Animal Kingdom and while at Epcot we will only be riding Soarin (instead of 2 in Animal Kingdom as originally scheduled) and having lunch at Sunshine Seasons. Also we will not be riding BTMRR in MK as it is being refurbished. To me the substitution of Sunshine Seasons for Hollywood Brown Derby is preposterous. One is essentially a loud food court and the other is a 2 credit TS sought after restaurant. And why only 1 ride at Epcot when we would have had 2 rides at Animal Kingdom? There is no price reduction with this new itinerary. The CM I spoke with was very unhelpful and it was clear that she didn't want to discuss the changes; she suggested I talk to a manager who hasn't yet returned my call. So while I wait for the call back, I thought I would ask you all.....What would you do?

I did not link because I'm not sure if that's allowed here, but it is easily found using the search tool on that page.

Hmm. Maybe I called in October then. It was definitely AK when I considered it. Now I'm really glad that we didn't book it. I would have been really upset. I wonder what that woman ended up doing. I personally don't think it's worth it now with Soarin'.

ETA- I just read the entire thread and can't figure out if she cancelled or not.lol. Either way, I think it's off the table for me. I'll hold off booking the trip until I find out if DAH is extended. Or at least more Early Morning Magic dates added.

Thanks!
