I thought we had a good deal with Thompson. Dreamliner flights,14 nights POFQ, dining package, tickets and discovery cove (OMG that was expensive) car hire and insurance, extra return luggage and seat booking for 3 of us just under £5K HTH

It really depends on a lot of variables such as when you are travelling , Where you want to stay, Just Disney or all the other parks, can you get "free" dining etc

We are staying onsite but also hire a car to get around as find it easier.
We are staying at grand Floridian for two weeks next year so not something you could prob compare what you are looking for but I did save £700 on the Disney and Virgin price

Thanks
I did have to work really hard to get it talking to all the operators and getting them to compete for my business. Thomson and Thomas cook will be competitive found that Disney were happy to say this is the price you can either book it or go somewhere else if it's cheaper. Virgin were happy to look into it and did reduce it but Thomas cook was still the best deal

just wondering who do u book with?
I book with whoever will give me the cheapest deal and I don't mind trading one company off against another on the phone.

We HAVE to go in the school holidays (my wife's a teacher) so that's at least a 20% hike on normal prices to begin with. I don't care who I fly with, as long as its direct and from Manchester into Orlando Int., after all, its a seat on a plane for 9 hours with a few movies thrown in

We went last year - we booked through COSMOS as they were waaay cheaper than Virgin, Thomas Cook etc. We got 2 rooms at AKL, car hire, Disney park tickets and free dining included.

Decide on exactly what you want and when you want to go then shop around as early as you possibly can

I agree with this, though I have actually ended up going with Virgin on my last two trips as we liked the experience of booking with them and a few extras they threw in.

It's worth noting that COSMOS no longer exist; they became Monarch and aren't currently offering any holidays to Florida.

I don't go near agents. Why pay them when I can do it myself?

We're going May 1st to 15th this year and have paid £2800 for three adults and one child:
Flights with Thomas cook £1780
4 Bed Villa with pool: £770
Car Rental (intermediate): £250

I've just priced flights with Virgin and a room at POP for the same dates and I get a price of £4712

For me, staying off site in a Villa (20 mins drive away) is preferable to staying on property. I really don't want to cramp four of us into one room for double the price, and getting to/from the parks is arguably quicker than staying on property. I find driving in Orlando is easier than driving in the UK, so don't let that put you off. So if a strong motivation is cost saving, staying off property is much cheaper in my opinion.

Hope this helps. Shout of you want links to the villa we're using etc

We tend to go through Florida4Less which usually has some good deals on but otherwise I agree with goofyfan78 in that you can do it cheaper yourself. Its not unusual to get a villa with private pool, flights and car rental for around the £700-£800 per person mark-some hotels come up even cheaper but are still good quality.

You will need to budget in parking for each day but the freedom to just hop in your car and go is worth it, asides it's usually only a 15-20 minute drive.

As for tickets, even if you are only going for 10 days it might be worth looking at the 14 day ultimate ticket which is only available to UK residents(works out cheaper I think) - it comes with some free stuff too like discount vouchers and memory maker, as well as access to the water parks. https://www.orlandoattractiontickets.co.uk/Ticket/Walt-Disney-World-Resort--14-Day-Ultimate-Ticket

We have booked last two holidays direct with disney. Last year we booked 18 months in advance and saved loads on flights (BA) and free dining for 12 nights. This year we booked without free dining and it was loads more expensive for 8 nights. I'd always book direct with disney, feels safer and saves on the high street travel agent fees. Hope you find a great deal soon.
