I grew up in London.

Do not ever, ever get into a taxi in London without having previously robbed a bank.

Do not dive in the Thames in London, unless you want polio or some other should-be-extinct-but-lives-in-the-Thames disease.

Do not use a public phone box in London without saving money from previous bank robbery and even then do not expect the box to work. Do however, expect it to stink of stale urine.

Do make use of passes on the Underground. Do not however, ask groups of teenagers which platform for such and such a place. They make it their lifes goal to send American tourists for 10 laps of the Circle Line.

Do not walk around Chinatown alone after dark. Same for the Kings Cross area.

Oh the weather. Well London weather is pretty much the same as New England weather.

And never mind the footie - take in a cricket match. (I'm joking)

this also goes for the rest of the uk and they can also stink of sick.

london has its problems..........but is nowhere near as bad as people make out

I have been loads of times, had a great time always.......and have not had any bad experiences
