Thank you so much, this is a big help to me. I'm fine with SM, BTMRR, and RnR, but I'm uncomfortable with Splash and I HATED Jurassic Park. I WILL NOT go on ToT, or any other "freefall" type ride. I'm also OK with Primevial Whirl, but no one else in the family will ride it.
i love primevial whirl :sohappy:
I only went on JP once but it was wayyy scarier than I thought it was going to be.

Splash I'm okay with too but I still get butterflies going up the hill
i think everest is just gonna have to be a "we'll see when we get there" type of thing.

I hate big drops too! I'm going to go on this though, because (I heard this referenced) there is a park in Ohio called 'Cedar Point'. It has like eighteen roller coasters and I went on one, oh the drop was around 70 feet and I loved it. So, 10 more feet shouldn't be so hard.

Over quickly

The drop is so steep and fast it doesn't seem like 80 feet at all. It's when you realize how steep it is that it will take your breath. But, it is over so fast you don't have time to react to it. Besides, you will be too busy dealing with the helix loops.

This is gonna sound dumb, but what are helix loops??

To calm people's nerves, let me assure you the "big drop" is not that big. It is fun, but not as big a sensation for me as either Splash or Jurassic Park. Those rides, your car is barely moving until it goes over the hill, then its all acceleration. On this ride, you have a little speed after the Yeti projection so the acceleration (and subsuquent stomach sensation) is lessened. Also, the last 20 feet or so of this drop is banked to your left, further reducing the sensation of a pure drop.

In my opinion, the drop is definitely bigger than any on Thunder, slightly bigger than the biggest on WDW Space Mtn, but seemingly smaller ( or at least less sensation) than the hill on Splash - for the reasons I have listed above. It is eefinitely less sensation than the hill on Jurassic Park or, shudder, the scary Ripsaw Falls and its unsafe seating!

Ride it, it is fun but not wild!

thx it makes me feel better haha, but idk if i should go, is the backwards pretty intense ( drops, orquick turns?)

Tight turns, usually a 360-degree turn is referred to as a helix. Not to be confused with a 360 inversion, a helix doesn't turn you upside-down, just a turn. As I recall, there are two helix' on EE, a single helix in the backwards dark run and a double helix outside between the projection and the encounter with the Yeti.

EDIT: Here's a diagram of the track layout I found on the Everest Updates thread [I take no credit for it other than digging through the thread...]
