Uber vs. Rental offsite

Anybody have opinions on this? We are staying offsite at Summer Bay Resorts late October and early nov. Originally planned on just having a rental car, but now wondering if uber would just be easier, not having to worry about driving at the end of the day or parking costs. We are going to mnsshp, 5 days of parks, two universal and one legoland. One thing I can't wrap my head around is if our kids should have booster seats. We have dd8 and ds6 who are both the same size at around 53 lbs. Anybody have any experience with this? Can we use our own boosters with uber? Would they be easy to store at the parks? Any insite would be appreciated !!

Happy wine Friday everyone! And happy Canada day!

I'm not sure about the booster seats but as an avid Uber user I might be able to shed a little light on that aspect of your question. Depending on where you are going and how far it is Uber fairs can add up fast. There are sometimes great deals on rentals in Orlando so that could be a better option depending on the price you get. Google an Uber fair estimator, not always accurate but close, and tally up the number of trips and the cost and compare to the price of a rental. Uber fairs do change due to volume of users at the time, time of day etc... If money is no object I say Uber all the way. Remember their may be a wait for Uber to pick you up due to traffic and volume of users. Regardless, have a great trip! I'm hoping for a trip to your Country soon. I've been once and absolutely fell in love with Canada.

Hi Alicia,
I'm usually a HUGE fan of Uber, but not in your case.
You'll need to use the Uber xl because of the number of passengers and car seats, making it more expensive.
Also you'll really have no place to stash those car seats after arriving at the parks for the day.
Parking IS expensive and you may incur valet parking charges depending on where you're staying, but for the necessity of safety for your children by needing car seats, rent a vehicle!

Laws may have changed, but I thought that kids five and under had to be in car/booster seats in Florida. So if laws haven't changed, then your kiddos wouldn't be required to be in booster seats. Orlando also has Uber Family, I do believe, so they come equipped with car seats/boosters. There is an upcharge to these Ubers. At any rate, we always rent a car. It's our preference to have a car at the ready.
