Uber vs. Parking vs Bus at Animal Kingdom

In all my visits, I've never been dropped off at any of the parks in a personal vehicle. This trip I'm considering using Uber to avoid the buses for Animal Kingdom. We'd like to sleep a little longer and still make rope drop. If using Uber can make that happen it would be worth a few extra $$$. Where would they drop off? Do they go the same place as taxis? Specifically at Animal Kingdom, where is that drop off location? That said, we've also never parked there. Since I've only ever parked at MK, is it a similar situation of parking & waiting for a tram? For reference, we're staying at GF mid-July.

Thanks in advance! If Uber is faster, I need to do some research on transporting kids.

Google "wdw prep school how uber works at Disney World" for a link to a failry decent article on Uber in WDW.

The drop off points should be the same as cabs which will be right at the front of the parks at all of the parks save for MK. Your drop off there will most likely be the TTC which would require you to take the ferry or monorail. You might however be able to get them to drop you at the Contemporary, but that would require you to walk over and ver well might negate any time savings.

As far as time savings goes with Uber vs Busses I don't really see there being a lot of it from AKL unless you have a perfect storm of circumstances.

The AKL buses only have 2 stops so they tend to run very efficiently. Depending on how far out how far out an Uber driver is, you might end up waiting as long for an Uber as you do a bus.

Another thing to think about is if your kids are under 5. If they are, Florida law requires them to be in a car seat when in a car. This will require you to use your own car seat or Uber family, both of which can potentially add to your travel time.

Where Uber can be really useful is going to Disney Springs and from resort to resort. Disney only provides a very limited resort to resort transportation and no transportation between Disney Springs and the parks. I would use Uber in those cases without question.

You may be overthinking this a touch. Bus service is fairly efficient to AK from the resorts. Also, I wouldn't necessarily classify AK as a park you need to get to at rope drop. Between the single-rider lines at EE and Dinosaur, and the fact that attendance drops around 3-4-ish, it's fairly easy (especially with FP) to experience everything multiple times.
