Typhoon lagoon or blizzard beach

Question about these two places... Which is better for the 5 year old crowd? Also taking teenagers... they can't decide.

Blizzard Beach has more offerings for younger children, with both Tike's Peak and possibly the Ski Patrol Training Camp.
Typhoon Lagoon also has a decent kid's area with Ketchakidee Creek, but Blizzard's offerings are better overall for the preteen set.

Not sure which the teenagers would prefer. Blizzard has higher and more thrilling slides overall, though Typhoon has a greater diversity of attractions and activities, with really elaborate offerings like Shark Reef and the massive wave pool which aren't thrill-based. I guess it would depend on the kids.

Of the two parks, Typhoon is easily my favorite because of its more successful themeing and greater variety of things to do.
My big advice is that if you want to try both parks, don't do them on consecutive days- you'll just end up too tired and sore to enjoy the second one.

Well it really all depends on what you like, but overall TL gets our vote over BB.

If you love going on water slides the most then BB would almost certainly be the better choice for yourself. They also have a lazy river there and something TL doesn't, a ski left. We find BB a little less relaxing though, Mrs Merg doesn't do water slides so sits and reads and has always said it doesn't feel as 'beach like' as TL though she does still enjoy it.

As others have pointed out, TL has its own unique offerings. I love the wave pool and it's not uncommon for me to just tread water for 45 mins at the deepest point, just bobbing over those huge waves as they're created. That's the selling point for me but obviously everyone is different. Shark Reef is also fun and unique to TL If you want to experience it however, I'd suggest going early as queues can get very long for what in essence is a 2--3 minute experience. My wife who loves to just relax and read has a great time at TL, for her it feels more like being at the beach than BB and when I temporarily return to our 'spot' she likes to just wonder around taking it all in. One last thing about TL, it has these 'roller coaster like' slides there. They're quite fun with water jets to speed you along and little hills you go up and down, last time we went to BB they didn't have these. They're a little hard to imagine so I've put a video here of them
