Typhoon Lagoon New Attraction Photos

Oh I still think that it's going to be a MasterBlaster-style ride.
see that up-swing of the slide on the right side of the photo. My guess is that'll go up a little more when they continue construction.

MasterBlaster style rides (to my knowledge) yes, do "shoot" your tube-raft up, but don't expect anything like a regular coaster would lift you up. The "lifts" in a watercoaster are not extremely long and are just a bit more than significant.

Just my two cents.

PS, The picutres are EXCELLENT! I too had no idea that slide pieces were already put on. I can't wait for theming and an announcement!

I hope that the theming is much better than the one's i've been on. The schlitterbahn one basically has zilcho-nada-zipp in regards to theming except for some streamers on top and spire looking things on top. The whole base is just steel. blegh!

Typhoons could be another mountain like miss tilly's.

wow... I'm getting really excited about this ride folks! :sohappy: :sohappy:

If you'd like to see it for yourself, the slide is very visible. Anyone can easily see it from the parking lot or around the higher points of the park.

I can't wait to see this open, my favorite water park is getting better. Right now it looks like Wet'n'Wild, when Disney have finished, it'll look amazing I'm sure!

Not all Masterblasters have lift-hills. Out of the two different ones I've been on, one had a dinghey only lift, and the other you had to carry the tyres yourself.

My first thought was "geez it's really not that high off the ground" but they'll probably make it shoot up pretty far at the begining. I like the idea of still having a long exciting ride but it starts low so you don't have to climb tons of stairs. Oh and note the full circle peice at bottom right of the photo. That means parts of the ride will be enclosed.

I couldn't believe how visible this ride is...even from outside the park. Looking at the main entrance from outside, it is almost to your immediate right....

It's about time a waterpark was upgraded.

Did Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard beach ever have new waterslides?

(I think Typhoon Lagoon got rid of racing outside speedslides for something but I don't know)
The only thing that I can remember disney changing was the two open air racing slides at TL to three enclosed racing slides.
Here are some pictures that i found to show you:
This is the way it was with the two open air:

And this is what it looks like now:

As for the opening date it is projected for March 14, 2005 and the location is next to the shark reef lagoon

A bit deceiving...

The nice part about these type of slides is that Height does not necessarily determine Length...Normal water slides ride time is directly related to the height of the starting point because they are really powered mearly by gravity...these slidesare totally different...I have seen models of these that actually have peaks higher than their starting points...however, that doesn not seem to be the case here...but you still don't need BIG hills to make the ride long...just MORE hills...
