Two parks in one day?

I'm planning a trip to Los Angeles and I obviously want to visit the parks, as I haven't been there in years. Is it possible to combine Disneyland and DCA into one day? I don't mind if I don't get to do EVERYTHING. My main concern is seeing World of Color, visiting DCA, and experiencing anything in Disneyland that is not included in the Magic Kingdom.

It wil be tough, but doable.

Make a list of what you want to see ahead of time. Get there before opening and stay after closing.

I visited Disneyland Resort back in October on a four-day trip, but spent 2 days at the resort. Also went to Knott's Berry and spent a day sightseeing.

My first day/night at Disneyland was for the Halloween Time event and spent the day at Knott's Berry Farm. The second day I spent it back and forth at both Disney parks. Fortunate Disneyland opened earlier than DCA, but was told to get in line when DCA opened in order to secure a fastpass ticket to World of Color. Everything was orderly but was surprised that in order to see World of Color you had to secure a fastpass.

The fastpass is at the Grizzly River Run terminal.

From there, spent half my day inside DCA, then back and forth at Disneyland and then DCA for World of Color.

It's doable, just plan accordingly. Of course, when I visited Disneyland, it was raining and I was on a solo trip, so had some advantages.

Best of luck, and might I suggest stopping for breakfast at Mimi's Cafe. Awesome Crab Cake Benedict. Mimi's Cafe is on South Harbor Boulevard, a block or so from Disneyland entrance. It's right before you travel up the hill to the interstate.

And if you got some time, check out 300 at Garden Walk. Great bowling and food.

Like they said, grab a fastpass when the park opens and then just do as the fastpass says. You'll be assigned a color section inside the viewing area and you'll go to your location at the time specified. Plan to be there a little earlier than specified.

I believe I was in the "blue section," which is near the Little Mermaid construction. I ended up standing in the back near the back rope line. Except for a few taller heads than mine, my view was perfect.

Ask a castmember for a good location, where to stand, etc.

And ask for your fastpass back, for a souvenir.

When is your trip? If it is on a weekend or a day when the park is open to midnight you should be able to fit in a lot from both parks (as others mentioned, they are about 100 yards apart). I don't know if you can do EVERYTHING but you should be able to get a lot in, particularly if your main goal is to do stuff not in MK (though you should do Pirates, the DL version is about twice as long as the MK version and is a better ride). One thing I would consider skipping unless you REALLY want to do it is Mickey's Fun Wheel, it is a very slow loader and the wait is really long (at least it has been every time I have ridden it). If you are only doing one day you could maximize your time better without that wait.

The thing with WOC is there isn't as much good and bad sections as there are good and bad locations within each section. If you can get close to the front of a section near a rail that can help avoid getting blocked out by other peoples heads (everyone stands for WOC). Make sure you get there early enough for the pre-show, it is a pretty fun warm up.

I'm going on a Saturday in March. I was already planning on skipping Mickey's Fun Wheel...just doesn't seem very important to me. And I shouldn't have a problem with people blocking me, I'm usually one of the taller people standing to see a show. Thanks for your tips!
