Two Fastpasses at One Time

Yeah, in June, we took the Undiscovered Future World tour, on our break in The Land, we went and got some FP's for Soarin, and our guide (a very good one I might add) confirmed that the 2nd time doesn't matter at all. This was also confirmed by a former cast memeber that I currently work with, who we were in FL with.

If you look at a Fastpass you notice four things.

1) It gives you a return window
2) It specifically says no showing up early
3) It says its good for that day only
4) It does not say anything about showing up late

Showing up after your window is both an accepted practice and not forbidden by the fastpass. This goes for both WDW and the DLR. Don't you think that if they didn't want you showing up late they wouldn't have included #3 above and would have made mention of #4 above.

Please refer to http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=69856 before we get into a discussion about #s 1-3 and specifically #4.

That has always been the case.

You could always have two-fast passes out at a time.

If you read you Fast Pass ticket you will see that there is is your Standy-by time for the attraction and underneath that is printed your next Fast Pass availiablity time. Typically the recharge time on the Fast Pass is roughly one half hour.

Fast Pass works like this -------- and has every time I have been to any Disney Park since Fast Passes inception.

----- Animal Kingdom opens at 8:00 am

---- Fast Pass Expedition Everest by 8:45ish

------- Standy time for the ride estimate is 9:30 am to 10:30

------ Next Fast Pass available at 9:30am

walk over too Tusker House grab food ----- Fast Pass KIlamanjaro Safari's

Walk back to Everest ride and than hit the Safari

We do the same thing at MGM with Rockin Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror -------------- Fast Pass Tower, and wait for RnR, than by the time your out of the Tower Beauty and the Beast on stage is running and you can duck in there for a cool show.

IF Fast Pass made you wait to use it till after your Standby Time it would make any sense because rides like Soarin'. Test Track, Everset, Kilmanjaro Safaris, Kali River Rapids, Splash Mountain have been done with Fast Pass before 11 am on busy days, and how fun would that be if you Fast Passed at 10:15 am and could not get another till after the Park closed.

I tried searching to see if anyone else has brought this up, but I didn't find anything so here goes:

I heard somewhere that they were going to try and make it so you could get more than one Fastpass at a time with one ticket. Anyone know if there's any truth to that?

I don't know if I will be a big fan of being able to hold two fastpasses at the same time, within the same alotted time frame. I think the way the Fastpass system works now is fine and about as good as it's going to get.

"...like a grand and miraculous spaceship..."

The time frames are never exactly the same but you can get them too overlap which is just fine, depends on how you like to see the park.

Overlapping Fastpass gets the antsy, busy people out of the way so the "Slowskies" can take thier time and snap photos

I am more of a middle of the road type of person at WDW.

Someone told me that if you have e.g. an Alton Towers pass or something similar, it may work at WDW for a fastpass, or maybe it was the other way round?
I'm not sure about this though, because if the machine is clever enough to know you have already had a fastpass, surely it would be able to tell the code on the pass wasn't a Disney one?
I dunno, I don't know how they fuction!

That once was true but not any more. Pretty much anything with a magnetic stripe (ATM or Credit card, room key, etc) would work. The current system will only accept a ticket that was used for admission that day.

We've gotten some for Honey I Shrunk the Audience, at Test Track. Last time we went we also got some for The Land, from Soarin'.

I get a Fastpass for Buzz for 11:15am-12:15pm. I'm eligible to get another Fastpass at 11:20am
Actually its 11:15, but they put 11:20 so that people don't return 1 minute early and get turned away. If your watch keeps good time you can another fastpass right at the start time, not 5 minutes past.
We've also started to use our fastpasses late (when necessary, usually due to dining reservations), without any problems...although I don't make a habit of it...at Soarin' (after a long lunch at Garden Grill delayed us) and Spash Mountain (after our Chef Mickey's reservation that evening).
Jungle Cruise "used to" allow you another fastpass, and at the MK you "use to" be able to get FPs from different parts of the park at the same time. I don't think this is still the case (although I generally only get fastpasses for Pan, Pooh, and Buzz <all of which were considered the same area>).
You should always try to get another fastpass, BEFORE you use your current fastpass, to best take advantage of the system...and use the time before your fastpass to enjoy attractions, shopping or food, that you might not normally make time for...which is why CoP is doing so well (kinda ironic that futuristic Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain have been responsible for saving the good "old" CoP from seasonal service.)
