Two Fastpasses at One Time

I tried searching to see if anyone else has brought this up, but I didn't find anything so here goes:

I heard somewhere that they were going to try and make it so you could get more than one Fastpass at a time with one ticket. Anyone know if there's any truth to that?

I believe this is correct... We go in the off peak times and rarely need a fastpass. I don't remember ever needing to have more than one. In any event, this is what I remember...

You can have more than one fastpass at a time, but not for the same attraction. There's a time stamp on the pass that tells you when you can get another fastpass for a different attraction.

Have a look at the April 9 2005 update on http://www.wdwmagic.com/general_epcot_news.htm
There is almost constant tweeking to the FASTPASS system, and it varies by park/attraction, so it is difficult to say at anyone time what the current situation is. Some of our regular visitors can probably help on the current setup. :)

The fastpass testing doesnt seem to be going on anymore.

The system is back to it's usual method of one-at-a-time. It does vary, it is constantly being improved, so its anyone's guess. It still beats waiting in line, IMO.

The easiest thing to do is get fastpasses early in the day. Every 1-2 hours you can get another one. Then by nighttime you have a collection of fastpasses for all the rides that you can use at your convenience. I almost never use mine during the time specified, I'm always several hours late and they don't care.

You can have two Fastpasses at one time. How? If the return window on your first Fastpass is within the next 2 hours.

For example: It's 10:30am. I get a Fastpass for Buzz for 11:15am-12:15pm. I'm eligible to get another Fastpass at 11:20am. Thus, you can have two Fastpasses at one time. I can't say if you can get another Buzz Fastpass or not, I never tried. :)

Oh I get what you mean.
This is what I tried to do...
For example, it's 10:30 and I went to Mickey's Philharmagic and got a Fastpass for 11:15am-12:15pm...then I got over to the Pooh ride at 10:35 and tried to get a Fastpass, but it said something about not being able to get one.

I'm probably not making any sense:hammer: :)

I know that in April EPCOT was running a test on the FP system. During that test you were able to get as many FP's as you wanted as long as they were for different attractions.

We walked into the park with a party of 8 people. The rest of the group headed to the Living Seas, while DH and I ran and got FP's for the entire group. We went straight to Test Track, then Mission Space, then Soarin, etc... by the time we got back to the group we had all of the FP's we needed for the day and were able to ride absolutely everything we wanted to without waiting, and without having to backtrack all day in order to get FP's.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that they are going to be doing that anymore. I loved it, but I can definately see how people could abuse that system. We didn't, but people definately could.

Actually, that made perfect sense. The reason you couldn't get another FP is that your time to get another one hadn't arrived. Since your window was within 2 hours, it would've been 5 minutes after the current window opened; in this case, at 11:20am you should've been able to get another FP.

The rules as I understand them:

Rule #1: The Under 2-Hour Window Rule. See above for details.

Rule #2: If your window is more than 2 hours away, you are eligible to get another FP in 2 hours.

-----
Test Track is the only place I've ever received a "surprise" FP. It was always for HISTA. Didn't get one 2 weeks ago when I was there.

What I do

Here is what my family and I do to "beat" fastpass.

Yes you can only get one ticket within a 2 hr block. But the big secret of fastpass is that The time does not matter!!Ok so I know you are saying that yes, it does and you're right but only the start time. You are not limited to used fastpass strictly within the hour bloack. Go back ANYTIME the rest of the day and they will let you on the ride. they ALWAYS honor the fastpass no matter what the time as long as it has passed the first time. I have had a fastpass for 2:00pm and gone back at 9:30 and they let me right on. Doesn't matter.

if used right, you have so much more freedom and flexibililty.

hope it helps!!!1:animwink:

Yeah, I've done that before...got my Fastpass for Test Track early in the morning and didn't go back until probably 4 hours after the timeframe on the FP.

Thanks though!:animwink:

The last time we were at WDW (July) your fastpass for Lights Motors Action did not affect the status of your other fastpasses. Thus, you could get a fastpass for LMA and get another one right away for any other attraction. I don't think any other attractions are like this, though.

Being strategic with fastpasses is SO important. I mentally shun people who get FPs for Haunted Mansion--the merge point is so far back in the queue that you barely save any time! On the other hand, I always get a FP for Peter Pan if I'm even thinking about riding it. That has to be one of the worst standby queues of all.

Agreed. I can't believe how long the wait for that is. When I went last December we hopped in the line thinking it would go so quick just because the ride never stopped moving...but no. We waited for about an hour.

Some FPs aren't networked together, thus no affect on other FP's. Here at DCA and DL we have a couple rides like this.

At DL, you can get a FP for Roger Rabbit and another FP immediately for any other ride that has FP. RR isn't connected to the rest of the system.

At DCA you can get a FP for Grizzly Rapids and another FP immediately for any other ride that has FP. GR isn't connected to the rest of the system.

Additionally because the two parks are walking distance from each other, you could get RR, then Splash, then walk over to DCA, get Soaring, then pick up Grizzly rapids. 4 FP's in about 30 minutes. Amazing.

The fastpass ratio for Peter Pan was the worst of the Fantasyland rides--usually it was 16:4, meaning that the merge point CM was supposed to allow 16 guests through from the fastpass line, then 4 from standby, etc. However, during post-parade or post-castle show rushes, the ratio usually had to go up to 16:2 in order to keep the fastpass line from backing up 10 miles. The moral of the story is: Ride Pan in the first hour, the last hour, with a FP, or not at all. (Unless you don't value your time.)
