Yes, here they are:

They are called “SoftTwinkle” lights and they are available in most styles and colors. They are fairly new to the retail marketplace. This is the actual company “Wintergreen” that produces them for Disney Parks Division. I love them year around albeit a pricey luxury! Enjoy!

I sprung for the cool white curtain lights and placed them on my windows...very relaxing!
I just ordered thank you!!! This was the best advice yet, and so many years later!!!

They are called C9 size "flasher bulbs" or "twinkle bulbs" and can be bought at Wal-Mart during Christmas season. Though, only the individual bulbs are sold there. The only way to get a full set is to buy like 25 packages of the "flasher bulbs" (they came in 4 packs last year) then just buy 4 C9 bulb strands & replace them.

Or, to make things easier on ya:

$18.99 per strand... kinda high priced, but it is what you're looking for. :)

Different colors are here:

Though Disney only uses the clear ones.

Do a google search for "c9 Twinkle" including the quotes and you'll get plenty of choices. Froogle works too. :)
I was just at Disneyland and I was looking at the tree lights I'm not a expert but they look to be led bulbs on top of a holder of some type to maybe hold the flashing mechanism they are not a reg bulb I did take a picture but you can't get close enough to get a clear pic , I would love to get some and wire them myself

Always happy to see my Twinkle Light thread get a new bounceback! I expanded my twinkle lights into my Christmas tree a few years ago and the effect is incredible. Very pleased with it.
And thank you for the new info!
