It reminds me of a story from years ago...

One day as we were closing the park I noticed a guy with some funky equipment. Well, Disney had to have an alligator removed from the water just outside the Flame Tree. It turns out people had been tossing him their ribs and chicken to him/her! At least he had good taste. :slurp: :slurp: It's better than him killing more of the African storks. :lookaroun :lookaroun

I solve this dilemma by eating at both places on my trips. :D That way, I don't have to decide which I prefer.

I might favor Flame Tree just a bit because of a quirky thing that happened on my last trip. My son and I are sitting in the top secret spot when another family comes down and sits at the table next to us. It's just our two families. Well, a CM comes along to clean up the area and starts talking to us. It turns out that we were from the same parish (county to you non-Louisiana folks) and lived close to each other. Weird, huh?

WOW!

This one's a "Battle of the Chickens"!

Funny you should say this...We were strickly a Tuskerhouse family for years until they stopped serving the Southern Fried Chicken dinners. It was the best on property. Then they took it off the menu and now just have the options of a fried chicken sandwich or Rotisserie chicken ...so, after eating at strickly Tuskerhouse for 4 years, we switched to Flametree Bar B Que and have been eating there since.

I may have to try the Tuskerhouse fried chicken sandwich some day though. I'm a sucker for any kind of fried chicken. :slurp:
I also miss their Garlic Smashed tators.:slurp:

I knew the voting would be close, but I never expected this! :p We've checked out the menus, and everyone's sage advice, so I guess in teh end it'll come down to what looks the best to us on that day. Thanks everyone for your input!

Tusker House for the menu selection. If you're tired of the usual park food, this is a great place to get a healthy choice or better tasting fare.:slurp:

Ha, my vote puts it in favor of FTBBQ by 1. But, to be fair, I've never eaten at TH.
We always mean to try Tusker House, but somehow we're always starving right when we see the sign for FTBBQ. Plus, I love BBQ Beef, and the view of E:E (under construction last two trips) is a very unique lunch-time setting.

We love Flame Tree. I never wanted to try it, but on our last three trips there has been no question about where to eat. My husband said, just the other day while we were planning our next trip, that eating there is only reason he likes AK.

Keep on rollin' flame tree. What's tusker have anyways -- a fish and fried chix... you can get the same things anywhere on site.. BBQ is a RARE find at WDW. Whispering canyon is really the only other BBQ place.

Actually, the fish is salmon, something not found on many (if any) service counter menus, with a nice added flavour and greens. The corn chowder is great and the the chicken is roasted, unlike the fried chicken you get elsewhere in the parks.

Flame Tree just gets the vote, but I still enjoy eating at Tusker.

Yes, it may not be at counter service, but salmon is at about 10-12 different sit down places. Roasted chix can be found at places too -- Cosmic Rays for one. But BBQ is very lacking at WDW--- along with another pasta alternative. The Tomorrowland CS at DL had plenty of pasta options the last time I was there. 4-5 dishes I think, and they were really good. They need something like this at WDW.

MK has been lacking in choice for several years now, but has the change to menu at Pinnochio's improved the pasta availability.

You used to be able to get BBQ and Pasta in The Land, don't know if that is still the case since the makeover.
