Tusker House and Boma

With the change of Tusker House from walk-up to buffet, I am wondering if anyone knows if the offerings at Tusker House are now similar those you find at Boma's at AK Lodge. We really enjoy Boma's, but getting there from another resort other than AKL or by taxi takes time and/or additional money. I know it would not be the same dining experience, but speaking menu-wise, does anyone know if the two restaurants compare? And if not, how are they different? Thanks for your help.

I am going to miss the well priced, formally affordable chicken dinners at Tusker house when we go. That was our favorite, but not at the new buffet prices.

Ditto. This was our favorite breakfast spot, was just perfect for our family and I loved the coffee. Won't be paying the buffet prices. Eating for a family of 4 with children over age 10 at these places just costs too much to do every day - we usually pick 2 meals from these types of restaurants for the whole trip, and that undoubtedly is O'Hana and Boma.

The prime rib at Boma's is the best prime rib I have ever had. It'd be hard to give that up as a sacrifice for the convenience of Tusker House. Don't have time for both though - there are other favorites to make sure we hit.

Exactly. It was such a nice change from the other fast food that is offered. Now we have to find someplace else to eat that's affordable on our tight budget. I'm not thrilled about bbq either. I'm pretty chapped off about the whole thing.
