Turnstiles

We will be visiting DLR for the first time later this month. I have read that if you line up at the turnstiles before the security staff shows up that you will be pulled out of line and have to go through the security check points. I also read that your best bet is to line up at the security "stations" rather than the turnstiles. Is this stuff true? My experience at the World is that, if you arrive before security, they will come to you in line a do a quick check of your bags there. That way you don't have to line up again.

Thanks for your help!

I can't really say but they won't let you to the gates until your bags have been checked at least that's how there do it at Disney world:) sorry I can't help much :(

I guess I don't get why you would want to skip them, yes it saves time, but it's a safety issue and do you really want a ton of people running around with who knows what in their bags?

I don't think you can go past the security check points prior to them being manned. If you get to the bag check points before security personnel you just line up at the security check points. When security personnel arrive they will check everyone's bags then you proceed to the gates in front of the turnstiles for whichever park you're going to.

This is the way I understand it to work. We never got there before security and turnstiles were all open.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I will add for informational purposes that when we arrived at 8:05 for 9am opening, our bags were checked at Security and we got on 1 of the 4 open lines. However, new lines were opened intermittently, and by paying close attention and rushing to a new line, we were able to go from about 12th in a line to 2nd in a line.

In my opinion, these security checks provide minimal safety. If you want safety, install metal detectors and body scanners. Wasn't there a thread not to long ago about a handgun being left behind on Test Track when it fell out of a guest's pocket?
