Trip Report Tu in ‘25 *Live-ish*

Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Tu in ‘25

These lyrics came to mind when I thought about my trip reporting. (I also thought, Here we go AGAIN but the above sounds much more poignant.) It’s now that time of year when my Disney trips are frequent. And this Disney Senior loves sharing her visits with y’all because your engagement makes it fun!

Yes, there will be stuff that’s the same. Yes, there will be surprises (too soon for the reveals). And yes, there will be sun rises!

Spring break countdown is at 4 days.

Since this intro needs a picture, here are Tu.

Woody and I disembarked at Frontierland for a special magic meet. @Loco_driver you will be happy to know that @Nunu and Frank are doing very well! In fact they are celebrating a milestone birthday for Frank.

We didn’t sing Happy Birthday but we did sing along with the bears.

Then we chick chatted and guy gabbed through the 30 minute wait for Haunted Mansion. @Nunu was bragging on my ability to nail the ride photo, so I couldn’t let her down.

My sore throat needed something cold, so we split up to divide and conquer. I got a dish of coconut soft serve from Aloha Isle.

Woody got an orange float with orange cream soft serve from the Sunshine Tree Terrace.

And we reunited with our friends at Tortuga Tavern, where we talked Disney and reminisced about our other meets over the last 5+ years.

Sunday, con’t

My energy was waning (thanks to the infection and lack of sleep) so we opted to grab dinner at Gasparilla’s.

The turkey/brie/apples/arugula ciabatta hit the spot. The house made chips were tasty but the salt bothered my throat so I just had a few.

I took the s’mores cake out on the balcony and enjoyed the sunset. I give the cake a 👍though I preferred the one I had in December. This current version is very rich and I was only able to eat half of it. Woody snacked on some warmed-in-the-microwave chocolate chip cookies from last night’s apology.

Let’s make it wider!

Hopefully after another dose of antibiotics and a good night’s sleep I’ll be feeling better.

We caught the FoF parade from a distance.

Then went to check in for “linner.” We originally had a 5:15 pm ADR, but I was able move it up to 3:50 pm. Woody and I did not stop for lunch on the way down and our brisket tacos had long been digested, so we were hungry!

Don’t let the smile fool you. We had to wait 47 minutes after checking in to be seated. Two different CMs blamed the party for lingering at the table. After experiencing our inattentive server, I’m not so sure she wasn’t the one at fault.

At the 40 minute mark the manager came over to apologize for the wait and gave us two large cups of ice water, which was much appreciated at that point. He was the one who sat us when the table became available and offered us a free appetizer.

“Actually you know what I would like?” I asked. “A slice of s’mores cake to go.”

You may remember my s’mores cake adoration from my December Plaza visit. The chef has since changed the recipe and added graham and melted marshmallow. I had to try it and it was the reason I booked the reservation.

“I can certainly do that,” he said. When he returned with the bag, he added he “threw in some chocolate chip cookies too” for our inconvenience.

I wanted the cake to go because I needed an extra-thick chocolate shake with my meal! It was wonderful and so was the pot roast - almost as good as Liberty Tree Tavern’s.

Woody had the turkey club. I gave him the onion rings that came atop the pot roast.

Since he did not have a shake, he ordered a hot fudge sundae for dessert. It should have come in a bigger dish! It was very difficult to eat.

What I got.

And the cookies.

I haven’t tried the cake yet so can’t give a 👍 or 👎.
The Plaza is now on my list for the pot roast and the banana bread pudding!

But when will I ever have the chance… 🤔
