TTA refurb

Wish they would build a TTA for EPCOT... That would be awesome

TTA MAY be closed during PARTS of the Space Mountain Refurb. It will be a day-by-day thing.

I saw that too. I interpret that to mean that there will be days when the SM rehab work will encompass a section that will require them to utilize the TTA track platform or space above it. That would make it a safety issue at that point so it's likely best to not run TTA vehicles through during those times.

Not exactly...let me repeat.
TTA will close along with Space Mountain, and remain closed for most if not all of the refurbishment. It won't be day to day, at least not until maybe the very end, at which point the TTA will go into the Mountain, but guests will not see inside the ride space.

You seem pretty sure of that information since it seems you felt it needed repeated. So you have an official source for that then?

The WDW website's operational calendar shows TTA as closed for refurbishment from 4/19-7/31. It would show longer, but that is as far out as they give updates for.
Info that WDW is sending out to travel agents states that TTA will be down through 8/31. I wouldn't put much weight on that date, either.

Unofficial:
My sources at WDI tell me that it is quite possible that TTA will not open up until the very end of Space Mtn.'s refurb, if even then. Good odds they both stay closed for the duration. There is a chance, though, that TTA could open up a bit early, but with the view into the mountain blocked.

I'm pretty sure, after all this time, Lee has proven himself to be a reliable source. He (along with others) has been very generous with his information and I appreciate it.

Major Bummer...

SM I can live without on my May trip....but hanging out with the fam on the TTA for a couple of go arounds are some of my favorite moments at the World.

And my last ride was with smelly people's BO wafting back toward us from the car in front...:hurl:

I'm trying to think of a better 'chill' ride than people mover and I can't come up with one.

Oh well what can you do.....

1) Yes. Some refreshing is expected, but not a lot.

I was there during the SM rehab and saw the TTA all torn up and didn't realize it had been that way for years! I just assumed at the time since WDW had one that DL's was similar.
