In general or on rides - in general i can understand - if not disney co. can foot my factor 60 sun cream bill :) (there is a hope in hell that im burning! so ill use my trusty factor goth :p )

On the rides - people say its over in a second - but when your queueing especially i dont want to be standing in the sun for too long!

Although ive got months ahead to wait - it just popped into my head :drevil:

Certain rides at the waterparks require that you take your shirt off. It really depends on the Slide Op at the top of the slide. however you are ALWAYS welcome to wear your shirt on the way up and hold it in your hands on the way down!

Rash guards are the way to go. I've never been asked to take my rashguard off for any water-slide / water ride. You can even buy one at wal-mart pretty cheap. Can get a surfing rash guard or the under armor type. They are much more comfortable than a wet t-shirt and won't chaff you like wet cotton.

I wear mine almost all the time when doing any water activity. Keeps me from roasting my back and shoulders and makes it easy to just apply sunscreen to arms legs and face. Plus I usually wear a hat.

Bring some footwear (pool shoes, sandals etc) for waiting in line. Some of the queing areas at Blizard Beach are like walking on hot coals.

i may buy 1 of these surfer vest things when i go this september,i always burn badly on my back and shoulders when im queueing for slides no matter what factor sun cream i put on.

i have one question.

i have long hair, but it isnt quite long enough to tie back but long enough to be annoying when its wet, if ya get my drift.
my question is are you allowed to wear things such as bandanas on the slides in the water parks, its the only way i can keep my hair back.

If you wear sandals while waiting in line, what do you do w/ them while on the ride? :veryconfu

BTW I too always wear a tshirt while at the water parks because like you said, I burn terribly and I've never been told to take my shirt off by anyone so there ya go...

Any cast member that tells you to take off your shirt, probably has an ulterior motive. :lookaroun

They don't seem to have any problem with rash guard shirts (If I don't have one, I burn terribly), so I can't imagine there would be a problem with a tshirt.

I wore a Tigger T-Shirt all day at Typhoon Lagoon and never had anyone ask me to remove it for a ride/slide. Of course, with my manly physique...

A word to the wise...

I've just returned from a small vacation in Spain and whilst I was out there burnt my back and chest pretty badly (although, I have had worse...namely falling alseep for three hours in Typhoon Lagoon back in 2001!...ouch!).

Anyway, long story short, we made a day of it at the local water/slide park and, to be safe, I decided to wear a t-shirt. Just you're standard, plain white, cotton t-shirt and, despite feeling like a small child - I'm 24 - it was actually very comfortable.

The real problem came with the slides as the t-shirt prevented me from actually doing any sliding! In fact, on more than one occasion I stopped altogether and had to actually 'swim' down the slide...in front of the queue area!

I don't know whether this just boils down to quality - Aqualand has nothing on TL or BB - but it might be worth considering. Spoiled what would have been a very fun day for me... although I appreicate the need for strong factors. It's just not a vacation if I don't come home salmon pink!!!
