The first named storm of the 2018 season has developed near the Yucatan. It's not projected to strengthen to more than a tropical storm and should stay in the Gulf and travel north to Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the extreme west Florida Panhandle.
The rest of Florida is going to get soaked, however, over the next week. The Southwest coast of Florida and South Florida can expect 6-10 inches of rain over the next week, while Central Florida should see anywhere between 4-6 inches.
