Tropical wave over Caribbean

I have a question for anyone who knows this kind of stuff.

Right now there is a tropical wave over the western Caribbean sea northward across cuba and the bahamas to south Florida. There is small chance (<30%) of this wave becoming a tropical cyclone in the next few days.

If this wave becomes a tropical storm, it would be the first one to hit the US this year. But Anna has already been named. Do they just pick up the next letter?

Also, how much chance is there of this destroying our vacation next week (last week and a half of Aug)?

This far out, it's much too unpredictable to say. Don't cancel your plans right away, but stay alert to any updates in the coming weeks about the two (yes, there's two now) tropical systems.

Also, hurricanes/tropical storms don't have to hit land to be named, so yes, they skip to the next name even if the first develops then dies out before making landfall. Here's the list of names for 2009 (and I'm especially interested in what system #4 will do  ):

Ana
Bill
Claudette
Danny
Erika
Fred
Grace
Henri
Ida
Joaquin
Kate
Larry
Mindy
Nicholas
Odette
Peter
Rose
Sam
Teresa
Victor
Wanda

EDIT: Also also, here's the current 5-day track for Ana.
