Tron Lightcycle Run is already rusting out

I'm honestly shocked by how much mold/mildew there is growing on the surfaces. I get this is FL and the humidity is BRUTAL to attractions and whatnot, but they knew that when they designed it. You'd think they'd have systems in place (or used materials in building) to maintain the appearance of the attraction better.

Side note, how often do they go down in the lower areas of the rides and clean the grounds? Seems like it would happen a few times a week, but staffing issues being what they are, maybe that's not realistic now (if it ever was)?

I know when I am riding roller coasters the first thing I take into account is what the paint on the track and supports look like. If it is faded or has mold and mildew on it the ride is simply ruined.

This is one of many situations that feels easily resolved, a quick pressure wash once a month would likely keep any mildew in the parks at bay. Disney seems to have gone to a yearly (or bi-yearly) maintenance schedule rather than regular upkeep though, which is sad because when you visit determines whether something looks horrible or pristine.

Sarcasm aside, it really is off-putting when you're surrounded by it when approaching the ride. Sure, the RIDE isn't really affected, but WDW used to pride itself, in part, on their ability to provide an overall immersive and high quality experience. This is not high quality and certainly not something you'd aim to "immerse" someone in.

The maintenance crew should research this new cleaning technology called the power washer.

Seriously, this is not the crews fault. Clearly, WDW does not want to pay their people to do what’s right.

Obviously, Walt would never let this happen. He would find the money to pay folks to clean this up.

I completely agree, the entire experience riding Tron is ruined by the stains on the track and supports. WDW management should have the entire structure pressure washed every other night to ensure the guest experience is the best possible. I am certain that no on will care that the ridiculous costs of such an endeavor will be passed along to everyone that attends Walt Disney World. After all no one ever complains about the price of admission or lodging as it is very reasonable.

Which is why the Six Flags video isn't so far off now, is it?
Because things like cleanliness and appearance used to be paramount to the Disney experience.
The Disney difference.
So yes... Part of the experience - a big part of the experience of a ride in Disney is what your eyes take in.
The condition of the place.
