Tron Legacy OST Released - Great!

I am still amazed Disney handed an entire film score/ ost to Daft Punk... I love eltronica so I was certainly pleased. I listened to all the tracks tonight (on grooveshark) and it is fantastic!

Now, the wait begins until opening night

(if you couldn't already tell, I love the original film!)

Is the original theme in any of the tracks? I was listening to it a week ago -- if that was indeed the actual album. Daft Punk had apparently released the album earlier than the studios wanted, and for free lol. Anyway, I didn't hear the old theme which would have been cool at the ending credits at least.

It's a great, rounded out soundtrack, and there are many tracks that show that Daft Punk still know how to get themselves straightened out and produce some amazing tracks. On the other hand, there are many places open for improvement. Will post a review on my site sometime this weekend.

As a huge Daft Punk fan as well as a fan of orchestral scores, the TRON soundtrack appeals to me big time - grabbed it at midnight release. I like the mix of electronic minimalism with the booming orchestra - it's a unique sound, but one I really enjoy. The tracks that shine the best are the ones that incorporate clear electronic beats or melodies in addition to the rest of the orchestra (Grid, Rinzler, Game Has Changed, C.L.U., Disc Wars) - but my favorites are the ones that are more dominantly electronic (Solar Sailer, Derezzed, Son of Flynn, End Titles, and End of Line) - this is where Daft Punk adapts their electronica best into a fitting orchestral score. All in all, an excellent soundtrack with only a few weak tracks (which aren't really bad, just not particularly interesting or a bit boring). I hope Daft Punk can prepare a new studio album at some point now that they've pursued a few side projects. End Titles & End of Line make me really excited for whatever beats the duo has up in their heads.

Nope, but Carlos' themes are used in places on the old Tron 2.0 Soundtrack.
