It was not very successful...The movie cost 170 million to make; it brought in 171 million US...the only profit it made was from international release, and that information is sketchy at best.
All that information is readily available online.
The reviews were 48% average. Even audiences only rated it at 68% overall (rotten tomatoes). That's an overall D+ to F critical rating.
Disney has NOT announced a sequel to the movie. There is some speculation that because it got a 50-% return from international box office that it might be greenlighted for a sequel. This is perpetuated in the Wiki listing for the movie, and nowhere else by Disney or any other producer or studio spokesperson.
Look, the movie wasn't a bomb. It also wasn't a hit. It was a film that disappeared from movie theaters in less than 9 weeks. Currently, Disney is acting as if the film just didn't happen. They've discounted or sold-off all of the Tron merchandise (with the exception of a little bit left at WDW, especially the gift shop after Mission:Space) and they haven't gone out of their way to discuss it anywhere.
That's a bad omen for any further Tron anything at DIS or WDW.
