We all remember when we had to buy tickets for the rides at the Magic Kingdom when it first opened.

The CAROUSEL OF PROGRESS required which of the following:

a. 'A' ticket
b. 'B' ticket
c. 'C' ticket
d. 'D' ticket
e. 'E' ticket

Hey Tramp, what do you mean a, b, c, d, an e tickets? :veryconfu

"Back in the day" you paid for tickets for each individual ride, instead of just paying one price to enter the park and go on as many rides as you liked. E-tickets were used for the 'best' rides, and it worked down from there. This is where you get the term "e-ride nights' today, when in the magic kingdom the 'best' rides remain open later into the night for guests who have purchased a special pass.

Well, at the time you didn’t have a choice, really. One of the plus sides to it was that it kept order in the park by limiting the number of attractions the average guest could do in a day, thus keeping lines down a bit by keeping the same person from getting on the same ride more than once without sacrificing their opportunity to go on another ride without buying more tickets. You could save tickets from trip to trip and use them together. One thing I don’t remember though is if they actually gave you enough tickets in one book to do everything once. I’m not sure but I’m thinking that they didn’t…
