Trip Report Trip Report - UK couple!

Hi All,

So we are staying at All Star Music for 14 days, with the dining plan... 3rd time for me but first time staying on property.

arrived last night at MCO to a very long queue and took ages to get our baggage but finally got to the hotel and ended up doing QS at intermission food court within the resort.

Today we went to Disneys Hollywood Studios and first impressions after not going for 2 years is that its still very disjointed but a good way to ease yourself into the parks... Most impressed with TSL although didn't get ride slinky dog. We will be doing it later in the holiday as we have a fast pass. Swirling saucers suprised me.. I didn't expect to love it as much as I did!

The walk from the bus drop off to the park gates is a bit annoying, an inconvience but nothing majorly bad.

Star Tours makes me feel sick 🤮 discovered I can't ride that anymore!!!

We are at Mama Melrose, and it was incredible! The steak was amazing.

It's a real busy day today at DHS but also very very humid.. definately one of the most humid days I've ever had in Orlando.

We are chilling in our hotel but heading back to DHS for fantasmic tonight

We are off to Magic Kingdom tomorrow!

14 days! Can’t wait to read about all of them. I am, of course, reading it with an English accent. Makes it more fun😎

Thanks! I feel so English out here!

Unfortunately fantasmic was cancelled due to storms but going back to see within 5 days

Day 2

We went to Magic Kingdom today to do Adventureland and Liberty Square.

Started off with a fast pass for Jungle cruise and loved it, they had a problem with the radio mic / audio and it seemed to be cutting out. Anyone else experienced this? Anyway great fun!

Then we did Aladdins Carpets which is something I never bothered with the previous 2 trips and it was great fun!

Then onto the Tiki Room with a dole whip float!

Moved on to Pirates next, loved that ride so so much.

We then did country bear jamboree and hall of presidents... never did hall of presidents before and i have to say i loved the animatronics they were terrifyingly realistic lol.

We used our ADR for the Plaza at lunch, i went for the new birthday cake shake and struggled !! The food was good but the service wasn't so great and the seating was not ideal. But good lunch food!

We headed back to the resort for rest and now we are headed back in for main street shopping and Happily Ever after!

That shake looks AWESOME!!!

It was so filling! But very tasty!

Just got in from watching Happily Ever After and managed to jump onto Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin and the people mover!

Ended up doing our QS at Caseys Corner as the park was winding down, which enabled us to get a seat.

One annoying thing I witnessed is the amount of people trying to get through HEA crowds with trays of food..

Great day, the Magic Kingdom and DS buses to ASM are quite the journey late at night when the feet are hurting!!

Tomorrow is a late start at the world showcase with an afternoon ADR at Bietgarten.

I've read some disappointing things before we are there and now im confused how people can dislike it! That being said i wasn't a fan of the dessert trio.

We had Blaze Pizza at springs tonight for our QS, that was disappointing, bad seating and generic tastes.
I know, I had the steak over mac n cheese and it was one of my favorite meals ever at DW

Day 3

We went around the world showcase at Epcot clockwise. We started off in Mexico and we rode Grand Fiesta twice as it was walk on both times.

Then onto Norway for Frozen, first time ever, i know its a controversial ride due to its location but I think its fantastic.

That kid looks terrified!

Then over to Bietgarten for lunch! It was OK, everything kinda tasted the same. But the atmosphere was good and so was the beer!

I loved the nord carvings, hidden away.

Here's some more world showcase images I took, i was disappointed with Japan's store, it's normally stocked with alot more stuff and it seems to have shrunk!

Sorry I missed a day.

So we went to Typhoon Lagoon yesterday, rode miss adventure falls like 5 times, love that flume as it's so much easier than carrying your rings. Spent a fair few hours between the lazy river and the wave pool in which I scratched my back on the floor. That hurt just a tad!

20180912_094730.jpg

We then headed over to Disney Springs and had D Luxe Burger, it was just OK. A little flavourless and needed more sauce.

20180912_144909.jpg

We then headed back to the resort for some rest, honestly this has been the best trip to WDW yet, between staying on site for the first time and having the full disney experience to actually taking breaks and spreading out the parks.

20180912_194156.jpg

Then off to Epcot for our ADR and Illuminations!

20180912_194317.jpg

We went to vianapoli for dinner in Italy and it was very nice, good real Italian food with great service.

Finished the night with Illuminations which I have to say is out dated and I look forward to its replacement. After watching Happily Ever After everything else just seems pretty dull!!!!

Following along! We love Mama Melrose's too, and have never had a bad meal there. Italian is our favorite too. It doesn't get much love on this site, but we really liked it. Excellent chicken parm!

Yesterday we went to Animal Kingdom, it was ridiculously hot and humid. Hottest day so far!

We rope dropped Pandora and went on Navi River Journey twice, once with a FP and the other was a 5 min wait.. We've got a FP next week for FoP.

20180913_084839.jpg

20180913_092946.jpg

While I love the boat ride, i feel like it could have a bit more too it, frozen for example is a great example for a water ride with a small amount of thrill. The animatronics though are amazing.
The land itself of Pandora is very impressive, but the FoP line is so confusing, paths get opened and closed and it's not very well sign posted.

Oh and I adopted a limited edition banshee!

Onto Tusker House!

20180913_101001.jpg

The characters were fun, the service was good and the food exceeded my expectations. As I'm from the UK we have full English breakfasts which are world famous.. but this was good.. I loved how buttery the scrambled egg was and how nothing tasted cheap.

20180913_120907.jpg

Then onto Festival Of The Lion King, which was again much better than expected. I have seen the Broadway show which blew my mind and I loved how this was focused on the actual characters from the movie and put a new spin on it.

20180913_125454.jpg
onto our safari fast pass, always a little underwhelming as I've been on one where we have stopped and fed animals including giraffes and been able to touch them. BUT this was a good trip, I dont know if its just the driver we had but there was no storyline, making the rickty bridge a little out of place but there was no "we have to take an alternative route" line here and it was much more informative.

Now the best part of the entire park for me, the gorillas. I stood watching them for 30 minutes and I could sit there all day.

I did feel sorry for them though, they sit with their backs against the glass and there were guests knocking the glass to get attention for photos.

20180913_134756.jpg

Then onto Planet Watch, which was easily the worst thing in the park for us, while I understand its educational value for kids I feel like a train ride to go there is really long winded... they could easily use this space for a whole new land (Indiana Jones? Or even an area focused on sea life and compete with Seaworld?)

20180913_142438.jpg

We then went back to our resort to take a rest, and returned to Animal Kingdom for evening.. next our FP for Dinosaur!

20180913_192030.jpg

Dinosaur is so good, i love this ride so much and I'm scared for its future. It's by far more interesting than UNIs Jurassic Park ride which just focuses on the build up to a drop.

20180913_204631.jpg

After tough to be a bug which I forgot how good it is, we headed over to watch Rivers Of Light which I have to say did nothing for me.. i saw the first showing of Jungle Book (meant to be RoL but was delayed) and Jungle Book was actually better.

This needs some serious improvement as the lightning happening above us was more impressive!

Next up Disney Springs shopping day!
