Trip Report.. including pop century :) 3/5 - 3/7

Decided on Friday night to head up to disney for the weekend so I gave central a call and managed to get the annual pass rate for pop century, arriving that night :D

Left late after work and arrived at POP around 9:30pm.. we always stay at the All Star and from the beginning the atmosphere seemed more pleasant here :D Love the decor and the setup, and the cast members don't have to wear those silly clown outfits..

Room was nice, same as the All Star really, just newer, lighting in the bathroom is much better and the furniture is classier. Loved all the icons from the decades, we were in the 80's section and enjoyed the sights having grown up in the 80's..

Saturday morning we headed out to Islands of Adventure (we needed some thrill rides, been almost 2 years since riding a decent coaster)... I'm not saying Disney has no thrill rides, but sometimes you need some more heavy duty action than RR :) That was allright, alot of high schoolers, the place was packed. I definitely enjoy the Disney atmosphere quite a bit more. The roller coasters were great, and we checked out posiden's (SP?) adventure for the first time.. pretty neat, although the movies looked kinda funny.. we finished IOA around 5pm and headed back to the hotel for a shower. Slid over to the MK for a bit for some dinner & ice cream and caught the 9pm fireworks.. then off to Downtown Disney for our usual round at the Virgin Megastore..

Sunday was our last day alas, so we headed to Epcot for some Mission Space fun.. noticed the new "air sick" bags.. heh.. the thought of that churns my stomach... We swung to the back and checked out the American Adventure as we do every once in a while, and enjoyed the Voices of Liberty quite a bit since we caught them in the preshow :D

After that we had some lunch and headed out.. definitely a good weekend getaway :D

Thanks for the report - gotta love the annual pass for those spontaneous getaways!

I was wondering - do the M:S airsick bags now qualify as a "free WDW souvenier?" We will be seeing them for sale on e-bay any day now!
