Phew.. LOTS of boys in blue on the way up ticketing people.. I've learned my lesson on hauling on the way up there.. so I kept it at normal speeds :)

Showed up at All Star Sports Friday around 4pm or so.. checked in real quickly, everything we asked for was set, non smoking and as close as possible to the food court/buses, we were in section 10 (Touchdown) which is now as close as you can get w/o paying the $10 premium for sections 1 & 6 (Surf section, closest to main pool and lobby, same goes for the other hotels and their respective close up sections...).. Room was nice and clean, on the 3rd floor, but hey, who's picky :) We just kinda hung around for a while and chilled for a bit and then took a bus to MK to spend the rest of the evening... I have to say the place was PACKED... it's been a while since I've been at MK with so many people around, we got there around 8pm and the area was jampacked with people waiting for the parade, you could hardly walk through. We had some chicken fingers & fish thingies at Columbia Harbor House :slurp: , then went on a couple rides.. park closed at 10 and leaving was INSANE we left as the fireworks were going off and had to make a maze out of going through the people... we got to our bus stop and had to wait for two buses to come before we could load up...

Saturday we lounged lazily around the pool most of the day and afternoon, then went to Planet Hollywood for dinner, good stuff... Christie's 4 days shy of turning 21, so needless to say she was a bit annoyed that she couldn't have a good drink or two :)... anywho, we hopped on a Bus to the Contemporary and then jumped on the monorail to the MK since it was closing around 11 or so.. again, the place was packed ... havne't been on good ole thunder mountain in a while, and somehow we got the front row.. lemme tell ya, that thing at night MOVES.... or maybe it's just been a while :)... jumped on buzz lightyear, which i still retain needs to be maintained a little better, paint is peeling everywhere, the que is very dirty usually (i know there's alot of kids on the ride, but still..).. jumped on a few more rides, checked out the fireworks, did some shop browsin, and headed back to the hotel (again waiting in a pretty long line for the bus...)...

Sunday we hit up Blizzard Beach :sohappy:... good weather all around, we bought our tickets at the hotel, which was a GOOD thing b/c the line outside of the park was INSANE! it went all around the ropes and thensome.. got right in and got a locker and off we were.. man what a workout, I love the park, but the stairs are a killer as everything is at the top of "mount gushmore".. yeah you can ride the ski lift up everytime, but you have to wait 15 minutes each time, oh well, note to self.. "work out before going to BB :)" we had a great time though, and are now nice and tan :drevil:. we stayed till around 5:30 and then headed over to Epcot to finish off the night... got there a little too late to do anything really (future world closed at 7pm except test track, which boasted a 120 minute wait time, no thanks :)).

Monday- Went to MGM (we always save it for the last day for some reason) We just kinda wondered around for a bit after getting fastpasses for Rockin Rollercoaster, hunting for red poweraid, because the Anaheim Produce hut was out... then got some lunch, rode on RnR, and headed to get some fastpasses for Millionaire, rode Star Tours and lounged around the shop looking at Episode 2 stuff, and then headed back to Millionaire where Christie got to first place in the second round, ie, had there been time, she would've been in the hot seat!!! Oh well, maybe next time. After that we headed back to the hotel, packed up our things, ate some dinner at Roadhouse outside the Resort, and hit the Turnpike...

Till next month!

Here are the pictures from this trip, have fun.. got some Mission Space stuff which Steve will get in a few minutes, and also took some pictures of some really cool new Topiaries that are up during the Flower & Garden Festival, took some pics of flowers and such too for your enjoyment.. have fun...

Hi,
When you went into the parks did they search all of your bags?

Were they taking bottled water or small snack items away from people who were bringing them into the parks?

Thanks

Maureen.. yes they search your bags semithroroughly before you get into the gates (they have tents setup with tables for security to check your bags...).

However, they do not take away food or stuff like that as you enter, so you're ok to bring in that kind of stuff :) I don't believe coolers are permitted though.

Thanks for the pics! I enjoyed seeing the flowers! I loved the park during Xmas and during Flower and Garden! My mom loved the roses and I´m happy to see that they are still there!
:) :)

Christie,
Hope you have a great day tomorrow!! :king:

HI,
Thank you for your response about checking bags.

One more question. What time did they let people in the parks? If the schedule time for opening was 9:00, did they let you in a little earlie, say 8:30?

Maureen.. I'm not sure really, in the hundreds of times we've been to Disney, we've never been there early enough for "opening time"... I suppose we'll save that for when we have kids :)

Maureen......I can answer that for you. (I have kids already!) When we went to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom at opening time while we were there this past weekend, they did not open the gates until a few minutes (maybe five at the most) before the parks scheduled opening time of 9:00. They use to let people onto mainstreet to shop, but I guess that has been cut back as well.

...this is not good news for me cuz i thoroughly enjoyed getting there at 8:30 and grabbing a cup of coffee and a danish at the Bake Shop before heading off to the attractions...

Hmm..

I'm not sure about the other parks..

But at Epcot ;)

When we had a posted open time of 10AM we opened the gates at 9:30AM.

But now, the opening time is 9AM and in order to open all the rides in the morning we stick to it. Hey, atleast you still get that extra half hour and I don't have to show up to push buttons at 7am :hammer:

Nice addition with the pictures...Come back soon ya hear??

sure thing! We're already planning for late June :)

Tink.. go figure huh? Small world.. hehe.. no pun intended..

Also forgot to mention that we took a run to Animal Kingdom just to ride on Triceratop Spin (wish they would give me a discount for never going to Animal Kingdom on our annuals.. or just give us Blizzard Beach in place! we never go to AK...) and the ride was pretty cool... felt kinda like a kiddy coaster w/ a kick, which I guess is what it is.... like others have said though, in the parts where you're not spinning around the corners, you're whacked pretty hard, it's fine though, and we'd go on it again for sure :)

Glad everyone likes the pics :)

Thank you for the trip report and pictures. I wish we lived close enough to be able to use annual passes. Glad you had a good time. And Happy Birthday Christie :king: You're day to be Queen for a day.
