Trip report Aug 28/ sep 4 outstanding

Ok so we have been back now for a few days and the disney depression is setting in so i thought i would share a trip report with everyone. We were worried about hitting a hurricane when we arrived but as we all know she did her damage elsewhere. (God bless all those poor souls) So Fort wilderness resort is just the absolute best. I give them the highest marks all the way around. The sites where spotless the meadows where beautiful and it was not crowded what so ever up until the holiday weekend when all the locals came in. And just as well they should. If i lived near there my camper would be parked there every weekend. It did fill right in even though there was a big gas scare 2 days prior. People started to panic and lines at the pump were long and they were limiting folks to $50.00 in fuel. This was the station just outside downtown Disney. Speaking of downtown. My wife will no longer allow me to handle funds when i am there. Believe me it is just better that way. Downtown was very nice. We did not go to pi other than a walk through because we do have a 7 year old who should just not be their and 2 teens who i do not want there. Sad to see the state of river country still a ghost town. They did run a new fence all the way around from the cast area back to FW. Along with the wall that has been their for some time now. On to animal kingdom. Again no lines what so ever up until the weekend. everything was walk on or 5 minutes max. How nice was that? EE is just massive pictures in no way can give you the sense of the size of this thing and it looks so cool. I have only been to Ak 1 time prior so it was nice to be able to slow down and find a lot of little things i had not noticed before. IMO dino land could use a facelift. It just seems so out of place. Moving to Epcot. Now again just imo. Epcot is the best park as far as looking goes but it could use some kick put into it. There was no one there. At times it seemed kind of spooky because of the lack of people but again this gave us the time to soak it all in. MGM is just plain fun all around. LMA is a great show. I am so glad i taped that. We did beauty and the beast, fantasmic, starwars,muppets,TOT many times (again no lines) wait times said 20. it was more like 20 seconds. and of course RRC. So here is the deal with RRC. For weeks before the trip my 7 year old stoned me to death he was know tall enough to ride. So after driving 15 plus hours trailer in tow, sleeping for maybe 4 hours then driving another 6 to arrive at FW. Camp was just set up and where did i end up first? yep RRC. My little one was so excited when he went passed the height sign and no one stopped him this time. So MGM just great. The magic kingdom. What can i say? Time here stands still. Cinderellabration was ok. Not great but maybe that was bec it was 95 degrees at ten am. But the rest was fine. And believe it or not i did not mind stitch at all. Granted it was no AE. But still it was ok. The nice thing was there where no lines for anything at all. I want to thank another person on here who posted about the upstairs dinning at the Harbour house. We had lunch upstairs 2 times in the corner window opp the HM. Again no people. If any one goes up their for lunch look out the corner window and you may still see a wash cloth on top of the flowers outside the window. I meant to ask why it was their but it slipped my mind. Poohs play place. well it may be nice and all but to fill in 20,000 for this is still way beyond me. On to the little things that add up to it all as a whole i guess. The CR is still being worked on. We had breakfast at Chef mickeys. Again this was my 7 year olds first charecter bf and what a time it was. Top marks for this. The weather was well just hot. it did rain every afternoon and depending on what side of the camper you were standing on determined if you got wet or not. So all in all it was a great vacation. My little one did not wine, the teens did not give attitude My wife just her beautiful laid back self and me. i got to spend a boat load of cash.....There are some little things as i would call them that disney needs to work on but in a place this size there will always be things that need a little love. So i am sorry about maybe the mis spelling and pun.... But i type fast dont look and i am not that good at it. so if i hit the key it stays. Back space//// wheres the back space key? Oh and btw i got my gold mouse ears......

The only reason it was that uncrowded (is that even a word?...) was because it's the off-season. Believe me, I was there at the same time you were. Epcot seemed very empty in comparison to... well, even regular season. IMO, it doesn't need any more "kick" than it has right now, because it's more of a traditional park.

Never mind, I ploughed through the report and it would appear that you had a great time - yjanks for sharing.
Were other gas stations also limiting fuel, or just on property ?

Just as a note...(this has been something that's been bugging me for a while and I just haven't mentioned it yet...) they did not fill in 20K just for Pooh...they filled it in b/c 1. 20K was not ever coming back and 2. eventually they are going to want to use the land to build something new. Better to fill it in now and give the imagineers a better idea of what they are working with than fill it in just when they're about to build some new attraction and find out there's something wrong.
