Trip Report 7-6-04

Alright, so it was my first day off from working at the Magic Kingdom in over a week.
What am I going to do on this oh so magical day off....?

Well, inspired by the fine folks here at WDWMagic.com, I decided to do a small snack-food eating tour of some of the things mentioned over the past couple of days (actually, MKT's Churro article has me jonesing for one). So... even though it is my day off, once more into the Magic Kingdom breach!

First of all, the crowds were pretty standard for a July day, Splash and Space Mountain were both sitting pretty at an hour wait-time, and Pirates had 15 minutes to enjoy the yo-ho-hoing inside. But, to quote short-round "No time for love Dr. Jones!" I made my way over to the Lunching Pad. Even though I was there to get my churro, I hadnt had lunch, and it was close to 2:30. The turkey-leg was purchased and consumed. The leg itself seemed dry to me, and smaller than average, as were the legs being handed out before I got my delicious meal. I hope this isnt a trend.

After polishing off the ole turkey leg, I found myself wanting some entertainment, so I promptly went to the TTA, to see how the preshow of Stitch is coming along. From the little I could see, I did see several members of the construction crew working hard, though the flooring is not in yet near the entry way. I waved to the crew, they waved back... Nice Guys...

So, that part of the TTA finished, I promptly napped the rest of the attraction (ever fallen asleep on that thing? Do yourself a favor, wait until the off season, fall asleep and convince a cast member to let you ride again and again, you will wake up refreshed).

The conclusion of the ride found me enjoying the tones of the Collegiate Al-Star band, doing a passable cover of the Maroon 5 song "Sunday Morning" I stopped, listened, and enjoyed the antics of the band, and hope they stick around for a little bit (one of their alto sax players is amazing).

So, I walk to Frontierland, and before I know it, I am startled by an unannounced new addition, the old Frontierland General Store, which sold Disney at Home goods, is now the second largest pin trading location on property! I liked that old store.... Oh well, my churro awaits...

A question about Churros, does anyone get them with the Chocolate Sauce? I don't, but maybe thats just cause I am cheap. Wonder if it really makes it better? The churro was excellent.

I also tried a Dirt and Worms cup from the Main Street Bakery, having never enjoyed one before. a friend of mine suggested it, so I tried it, and I have to say about it.... eh. Its not bad, not great though. Ill stick to my Bakery Ice Cream Sandwiches.

Went to MGM later, no snacks there. So I just watched Fantasmic... darn.

:hammer: :hammer: :hammer: I figured, everyone does a trip report about the rides! :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Nice alternate trip theme.
They must be working you pretty hard as I haven't seen ya round these parts near as much.

You left out all the ice cream, Dole whips and other frozen fruit whips.

You should plan ahead for Food and Wine over at Epcot this fall. Now that can give you grounds for some serious knoshing.
