Trip Report 12/2-12/9

Sad person right now as just back from the World:cry:

Overall vacation (as usual) was great and weather was great while we were down there two days in mid 60's rest in low 70's, and being from MA the 60's were great.

On 12/3 we did MK, crowds and lines were great, got to ride favorite rides multiple times. Did SM 4 times, BL 3 times, BTMRR 3 times and SM 2 times. Was a little more crowded in the afternoon. Had great seats for the parade, sit near Peco Bill's, second year doing that and seems to work out great.

On 12/4 did DHS. Took boards advice and got right over to TSM about 9:15 and got in line for fast pass which we got 11:55, when we went back to use Fast Pass already out, many people looking and wondering why already out. When checked wait board generally over 80 minutes wait. Ride was fun wish we could have done it some more. Found this park a little more crowded than use to. Saw a television crew from Brazil taping some guy at different spots in the park, though don't know who he was. Even with crowds road ToT 6 times and RnRC 3 times. Last time coming off RnRC on the same car as us was David Archeleta (Sp?) from American Idol he was really nice. Saw the new Block Party Bash was fun, but kids were really disappointed, they liked the parade better and I have to agree somewhat, it's not something I would watch over and over again.

Went to DTD and did the T-Rex Resaurant thought it was good and portions were alright but thought it was a little pricey. Kids loved the Build a Dino there.

Also as we were staying at BCV, we have never done Beaches and Cream, so decided to try it one night and do the "Kitchen Sink", which we had heard so much about. What we didn't hear is that when they bring it out they turn down the lights and put on these flashing yellow lights in the ceiling and anounce what is coming out. My wife couldn't believe it, everyone was watchin us.

on 12/7 we did AK, again found a little busier than what we were used to but still did everything we want. Tried Yak and Yeti for lunch and thought it was pretty good. Something different from what you normally get in the parks, though again a bit pricey for lunch. We got to ride EE multiple times which the kids enjoyed. Did Dinosaur twice and both times it broke down on us. First time the lights came on which takes some of the magic out of it.Maintenance came around, ended up being our vehicle that was causing the problems. Kids did PW, which one side was shut down which I thought was funny as they just came out of rehab.

12/8 did Epcot. Our lucky day, we were getting on JiI and got Dream Fast Passes. Found, which still boggles my mind, long waits for Soarin. Did ride it twice with Dream Fast Pass and Regular. Found that there was a huge group of Cheerleaders going around the park. Did TT twice, which is always fun. This year did the Tamer version of MS, which I liked a lot more, but my son perfers the other one still. Took advice from the board and had made 8pm reservations at Rose and Crown, arrived earlier and requested a Terrace table, had to wait a bit longer, but we had front row seats for Illuminations, to enjoy while we finished supper. Was kind of neat as they didn't rush us out either so when we left park was pretty empty, almost reminded me of book "Kingdom Keepers".

That's about all the hi-lites. Now have to wait till next year and DW is talking about maybe not going and going to DL instead. I don't know about that.

Why are 12/5 & 12/6 suspiciously absent? Did you maybe do Universal on those days? ;) This is like the missing 18 1/2 minutes on the Nixon Watergate tapes.

My boyfriend and I are trying the Kitchen Sink in January. I had no idea they dim the lights and bring it to everyones attention. But hey, you only live once. I know we are not going to finish it but I just wanna say I had it.

 DW and DC needed a rest in between so we did the pool, DTD and some offsite shopping those days.

Just out of curiosity, how early did you get to Rose & Crown to make that request? I have an 8pm reservation for my upcoming reservation, and while I know it can't be guaranteed, I want to do everything possible on my part to give me the best shot for Illuminations seating.

Sorry didn't respond before this but with Ice Storm no internet access till today.

We arrived about 7:30, but were also meeting someone there at that time.

Question about Rose & Crown and RoE. Did you get cold while eating your meal? We happen to have a ADR for 8pm and we plan on trying patio. We're willing to wait for a outdoor table. Thanks for any tips or idea's on getting a great spot for RoE. Thanks Brent:wave:

Hi Brent,

Sorry been busy for a few days just checking. They had on the patio some of those portable gas heaters, so it wasn't that bad. In fact we were sitting right next to one and got a little hot, but they turned it off a little before Illuminations.
