Trip postpone

If I've booked a trip for September (with insurance) could I call, in say, June and postpone the trip to the next summer without using the insurance to do so? I am just trying to verify that before the payoff trip, you could push back your trip completely, even up to several months or a year. Thanks!

I believe that you can modify/cancel all accommodations/packages up to 6 days before your arrival, insurance or not, as per Disney policy. The travel insurance is more for trip interruption, cancellation within the 6 days prior for medical/death reasons, baggage delay and medical expenses.

Oh OK... I kinda thought the insurance was non-refundable though.

It is - the insurance policy will specify during which dates it is valid for (ie the length of your booked trip). If you re-schedule your trip you can't re-schedule your insurance and so lose your insurance (unless its an annual policy
