...trip in progress... (6.27.07)

hey, all. i'm sitting in my room at pop century with $10-a-day internet access, so i figured i at least ought to make good use of it.

i arrived in florida yesterday afternoon. my sister lives here, so she met me at the airport. the thing is, despite her living here, she likes to stay on-site from time to time, so we are, per her request, staying at pop. the hotel is not as far-flung as i expected after reading several reviews. we are in building three (the tramp building... hm...), on the backside, and we are close to everything we need. pics below.

last night, after checking in, we had dinner at o'hana. i would review the new spread favorably. we devoured the salad and chicken legs, and i made a dent in the shrimp. the sausage was okay; the turkey was delish. pics below of the hotel, fireworks seen from our table, and random shots from our quick sojourn around the resort to walk off some calories.

today we spent the morning at magic kingdom (after flipping a coin to decide between MK and Epcot). we got there early, despite taking our time all morning. linda at the gate was amusing (doing her own version of the opening show). and my sister and i got a kick out of the mass of people who went flying down main street. we just don't do that anymore. plus, it was already pretty toasty at nine.

we saw laugh floor for the first time. it was great. a super addition, in my book. we rode space mountain (30 minute wait) and buzz (20 minutes). in fantasy land, we waited 30 for iasw, 15 for snow white. we're currently at the hotel cooling off and chilling out before we head back for frontierland, adventureland, spectromagic, and wishes. so. pics below. enjoy!

that's all for now, folks. :) maybe more later, if i get back before my 24-hour internet is gone.

small update:

went back for frontierland and adventureland. crowd level was slightly lower. we waited only 30 minutes for big thunder railroad, which was nice. and we basically walked onto potc twice. now that i've seen the movies, the ride is that much more entertaining.

watched wishes. i haven't seriously watched a fireworks show at wdw in a while, and i have always maintained that fireworks are fireworks are fireworks. but wishes is beautiful. the choreography is stunning in places, and the pyrotechnics are impressive.

just a few random photos. enjoy!

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of camera are you using? I agree with everyone else the pictures are great.

Wish I was there. I don't think I'm gonna make it until August.:brick:

thanks for all of the positive comments, everyone!

i am using a kodak z710. i got it for christmas, and i haven't stopped taking photos. it's seriously an amazing piece of equipment. it's got quite a few settings (everything from fireworks, to landscapes, to flowers), but it's very easy to use. it's available at pretty much any walmart or target. the price is a little steep (apx. 275), but it's totally worth it to me. :)

thanks, again!
