I put in the signature thing and it shows up when I enter it. After I hit post reply it disappears.

You need a space after the first 10 like this:
COUNTDOWN=2015/12/10 10:00

Yep, it says that in the instructions on the first page

"Countdowns will only appear after the page is refreshed."
