Does anyone know of links ,sites where you can get disney countdown clock shown on your desktop? If not are there any other neat sites to get contdown so that its easily accesable?

Well you can easily get a countdown on WDWMagic, just plug your info in your User CP.

Hmm, the download link doesn't seem to be there anymore... nevermind.
ETA: the download link just doesn't show in my Firefox, I must have it blocked. It should work for you. It's the Disney Vacation Connection. It gives you a countdown, videos on the parks and the resort you're staying in, and links to news.

You can get the one from www.waltdisneyworld.com. It's kind of hard to find. I found it when I clicked on "my disney vacation". It then should be in the right column towards the bottom under "Planning Help". It's called the "Disney Vacation Desktop Planner". It has a bunch of info too and a checklist.
