Treehouse Villas?

Are there multiple types of the Treehouse Villas or is there just one? How does it sleep 9? I know two queen beds which equals 4 then the bunk beds which equals 6 and the chair which equals 7… where does the other 2 come in? I am so confused and the new Disney website doesn’t make it easier to search and use. Thanks!

There's also a queen sleeper sofa that sleeps another two. We actually had 10 of us in there for one night, and we all had plenty of space.

To my knowledge there is only one floor plan for the treehouses.

Yup. The only variation (I believe) is in the couple of handicap-accessible treehouses. The outside stairs are ramps, and the bathroom configuration is a little different.

Otherwise, they're all the same.

That is correct. I remember back when they were going to be rebuilt I was wondering how they were going to make some of them ADA compliant. I calculated that the ramp was going to have to be about 120' in length and, given the tight quarters, I did not see a good way to fit it it. However, they managed to do it. I was on a tour of the place earlier in the year and asked to see one. The ramp meanders all over the place, but they managed to squeeze it in.

We where thinking of doing it with friends for like Summer 2014. It is literarily like a house. Looks like plenty of room. My fear is if we don’t rent a car and use Disney transportation how far is it from buses and such.

The bus situation at the Treehouses is less than ideal. The last time I checked, there is no direct transportation to the parks from there. You have to take internal transportation to SSR and go to the parks from there. Having your own car is ideal, but each treehouse only has 1 parking spot. No big deal if you only have one car, but if you are rocking a party of 9, chances are you will have 2 cars.

If you are lucky to get one of the units by the walkway to SSR, it is only a few minutes walk to the Grandstand bus stop, which both picks up and drops off first from the parks. If not, the internal bus stops take you to the Springs stop to catch the park buses from there. The Springs stop is near the main buildings and pool, but is the last stop for the park buses to both pick up and drop off. In the mornings, it is very doubtful that you will get a seat. Both times we stayed in the treehouses, we had a car, and just drove over to the Grandstand in the morning.

BTW, the Treehouses are a wonderful place to stay at Disney. Plenty of room for everyone, your own little house, and no noise from the neighbors! Very relaxing!! They also have their own boat dock for the trip to Downtown Disney, though it does stop at the main SSR boat dock as well. Still a good way to travel.

We would probably be more around 6-7 not exactly 9 anyway so a mini-van and parking spot could work great.
