Have they started putting up the new one's yet? I remember seeing a posting showing pictures of the bases, and that things were being delivered but haven't seen any pictures.

we drove by on the way to DD and the new exterior under padding or insulation was up on the villas. Tried to get pics but they didn't come out to well. The landscaping hasn't been touched yet probably because the construction still.

hey all, they used to be for the guests, but now over the past few years cast members stayed in them if they were on college program or j1 visa program, now they are being transferred to paterson court, a new complex next to commons and chatham square. i've been in a bus inside them but theyre covered in trees but they seem cool. i talked to a few cast members who lived there they loved them :)

So originally there was a bedroom "downstairs" too? And now they'll just be three bedrooms upstairs? Was there anything else downstairs? Will there be anything downstairs now?

I believe there was a second bathroom on the downstairs level. There won't be a "downstairs" in the new Treehouses. They're expanding the square footage of the upper level to add the third bedroom. The only thing that will be at ground level are the support posts and the central column that contains all of the utilities.

They found their loophole in the wetlands laws by realizing that the "impact" of each treehouse (meaning the amount of square footage actually touching the ground) will actually be *less* than the old Treehouses thanks to the elimination of the ground floor room.

And though it'll technically have 3 bedrooms, each bedroom will only sleep 2 people (1 king in the master bedroom and 1 queen in each of the other two). Presumably there will be a sleep sofa in the living room, making the max occupancy 8, which is on-par with a 2-bedroom Villa at the DVC properties.

I believe that was one of the possibilities kicked around in the various discussions on here about the new Treehouses. The old Treehouses weren't handicap accessible. They only had stairs to the upper level. One of the possibilities brought up was to take some of the regained square footage and on some of them install some kind of a single-person elevator up into the Treehouse.
