As was mentioned earlier - don’t fly into LAX - fly into John Wayne. Soooo much better! And depending on the approach you may get a birds eye view of Disneyland as a bonus!

I would love to fly into John Wayne over LAX, but I’ve yet to encounter good deals.

I’m flying from Atlanta to LAX on in a few days for $150 a ticket, granted, it’s with Spirit, but I have no issue with them.

Flying Delta to John Wayne on the cheapest possible date would be 4x as much. Cheapest Delta date to LAX is also cheaper. Unfortunately, isn’t reasonable for me to fly into John Wayne.

It looks like you can fly Spirit from ATL to SNA for pretty cheap if you are good with a plane change in Las Vegas. It looks like the layover period can vary widely depending on the day and that may be a deal breaker for you. It's probably too late to plan that out now with your trip so close, but something to maybe look into for next time.

Interesting, thank you. I wasn’t looking at connecting flights since we’re flying direct both ways, so I still think LAX is the better option for a comparable price.

We’re not checking bags, so we don’t have to deal with baggage claim, thankfully, and any hassle at the LAX compared to the much simpler John Wayne is probably bought back with eliminating the time and hassle associated with connections.

I was trying to figure out where we wanted to vacation with a few friends, so I created a spreadsheet with like 50 different flights, dozens of cruises, dozens of hotels, ticket prices to different parks, etc. and pricing it out made visiting California significantly cheaper than visiting Orlando, which, from Atlanta is crazy. That includes sneaking a visit to Knotts, 5-days at Disneyland, and a day at Universal. Pricing it out comparatively was honestly pretty shocking.

I often try to explain to people that it’s cheaper to go to Disneyland and no one ever believes me because all they can think of are the cost of the flights from the eastern US. 🤷‍♂️

Flying cross-country on Spirit Airlines and using LAX?

You will remain in our thoughts and prayers.

I've done dl 4 times and it's always been cheaper than wdw coming from nyc.
