Quick question.. in the expensive disney vacation show, they are showing a concierge guide who is following the family around (on the rides, dinner, etc.). Has anyone ever did that before? That looks horrible to have a guide following you (or leading you) around your whole vacation. They showed the guide eating dinner with the family at Jiko- does the family pay for her or is her dinner free?

To be honest, when you get advertised on these disney specials on the travel channel, do the families actually pay? This is free advertising for disney so I would assume this is free and the families are specifically chosen by disney and the travel channel.

Finally, MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY DISNEY EPISODE COMES ON TONIGHT!

I dont know if they get their vacation free or not. I would assume not but as for the guide showing them around, I think it actually says on that episode that the guide is about $100 an hour and there is a 6 hour minimum I believe. $600 for someone to show me where stuff is and ride it with me I'll pass.

$600 for a guide? that is crazy. Who actually uses the service? Even coming from money, I do not want someone telling me where things are at at disney. Thats just too much.. the magic part is finding things out for yourself.

I wonder how does Joe Rhode feel about the problems with Expedition Everist? This is his baby but I keep hearing the ride is not operating in its normal mode.

Thanks so much for letting us know! My husband and I will be there next week and after watching the show we are sooo excited.

One question: On the nights when MK has MVMCP, do they still do the "usual" evening fireworks show before non-ticket-holders have to leave the park for the Party-goers?

When I went last year, MK opened up for MVMCP guests at 4pm. At 545pm the Castle Light Show took place and at 6pm WISHES took place. Then the party officially started at 7pm. Later in the evening the Holiday Wishes fireworks took place. However, it seems that they have limited the show now. I cant remember off the top of my head.

Wouldn't it be fun to have Bourdain or Zimmermann do a show from Disney? Maybe not. How about Rick Steves, Rudy Maxa, Alton Brown, Burt Wolf or Kevin Brauch? Samantha is awesome at many levels, and I enjoy watching her. But her shows are not as gutsy as some of the others, which maybe is a good thing. Why tarnish the image?

By the way, wasn't there a website somewhere that posted when the Disney World shows were to be on? If anyone knows, please share. Thanks.

We have most every episode from Travel Channel and Modern Marvels that feature WDW DVR'ed. That said, we still watch them when they're aired. Samantha Brown is really starting to annoy me lately though. I'll get through it...
