Who books their own travel? Does anyone use a travel agent to book with? Any Advice?? I've done both ways, but the next time we travel we are going with another family, I wondered if it were easier to go through a travel agency? Any advice on which ones to use?? I've seen a few disney travel agencies advertised on some of these websites but don't know a whole lot about them.

Thanks :animwink:

I guess it would depend on how much work you wanna do on your travel arrangements. I personally would never use a Travel Agent. I don’t see a point in paying a Travel Agent to make a call that you can do yourself. It’s not like you can’t get the same rates they can. However if you don’t mind paying the additional money then go for it.

You can easily book your own trip if you want to, but if you want to use a travel agency...then chat with Pam. She is a sponsor on these boards and helps alot of people out all the time. She books for the same, and even some times, better rates than you can find. She also does itinerary planning. Check her out at www.kingdomkonsultants.com. I usually book my own, but have used her services many times (I consider her a friend as many of you know), but she is just as good to everyone as she is to me. I doubt I will do the hunting for the codes and calling again after the deals she has found...always good! Hope this helps and have a wonderful trip to Disney.

We booked our entire trip ourself. We went to Hawaii last year and got the complete run-around from our local travel agent (Actually a national Company) I had to work things out with the hotel, we went, everything was fine. I vowed that I would do it all myself next time. I would definitely use Pam if I needed more assistance. She knows the whole Disney system inside and out.
BUt I have to say, we had a complete BLAST planning this trip. My MIL and I were online for hours with 2 chairs in front of the computer looking at all the options etc. I have loved it. :D

When we fly we use a travel agent. When we drive we book ourselves. I'ts easier for us to let someone else shop around (and we have a friend who is an agent.) I'm not sure how it is all over the country, but in NY you don't pay extra to use a TA...the airlines and resorts pay them. You don't.(unless there is somekind of hidden fee built in. )
