Transportation wait time boards

To those who have experienced the boards:how accurate do you find them to be?

They were accurate, but they had their limitations. By the time you have walked all the way to the bus stop, there's not a lot you can do with the info. It would be much more helpful if you could check it from the app. Also, the projections will be amended. So it may say 20 minutes and then ten minutes later something happens and it goes back up to 15 minutes. So your actual wait time is 25 minutes. But it was reassuring to have the info even if it rarely influenced our decisions.

I wonder how Walt would feel about the term "Disney Transport" being almost exclusively associated with buses?
Well he was a chain smoker, so any issue he might have had certainly wouldn't have been over pollution. I think he would have been pretty pumped seeing the construction over at DAK though.

I feels as though some here need WWWD bracelets...

I like the idea of the time boards and can't wait till they integrate with MDE app. The one at Contemporary did not have all of the parks times listed. We were going from Contemp. to Hollywood Studios and there was no time listed. But, thankfully the bus still came. LOL

I have to admit they are pretty accurate. We were at CR last November and they were spot on. They were also continually updated so whether the bus was going to be late or early. They had a CM there taking notes too.

We stayed at VWL this past December (15-22/2015) and found them to be not very accurate. Speaking with the monitor at the Lodge proved to be the most accurate. During the day, after the monitor departed, the board gave us a good laugh. Reminds me of the MBTA here in Boston - the times on the subway saying how long 'till the next train are a joke. The system in DW needs some more work.

We found that the arrival boards were not very helpful, especially first thing in the morning. Last month at WL, an arrival time would be posted. Then, a minute would be added to the arrival time every minute until the bus finally showed up. The effect of this is that you had no idea as to if and when the bus would actually make an appearance. Also, it seems that Disney is getting even worse at transporting their guests to the parks early.

Found them to be very accurate at WL 1/1-1/9/16.

Sometimes buses encounter traffic. My GPS does the same thing when I'm sitting at traffic lights.

On our trip to Boardwalk Villas last month we used the buses a great deal. We found the boards to be very accurate. Once waiting on a bus to Animal Kingdom there was some adjustments when the bus was about five minutes out, but it still showed us that it was on the way. When it arrived it had to handicap scooters on board and I am sure that is what caused the delay.

Absolutely. If they were the only things on the road and there were no traffic lights they could be 100% accurate. But they encounter traffic, traffic lights, emergency vehicles and everything else we all do on public roads. So as you say, the time times won't be 100% accurate. They are a rough estimate and really pretty good estimates.

Stayed at Poly last weekend. The board is up, but it's not operational yet.

The one at Wilderness Lodge was kind of annoying, but that's because they kept pushing times back by small increments instead of one larger/medium size one. But it is nice to have them for an approximate time.

You act as though it is a person doing that to screw with your head instead of a computer program constantly updating based upon traffic conditions. Like your GPS.
