Hello everyone I'm looking for some advice and there is no other place to go but here on wdwmagic. I am booked for my 1st Disney cruise next March and I am trying to figure out the best way to get to the port. There is 16 of us going, and we all are planning on arriving in Orlando the day before and spending the night at the Hyatt in the airport. Do we take we use a car service to get us there or use the Disney buses? The car service will definitely be cheaper for everyone and we would make a stop to get some alcohol/water for the cruise. But if we do disney buses we would take a cab to get those things on Friday. I definitely want to get to the port when it opens to be sure we get on the boat as soon as possible. Are there any advantages on using the Disney buses?

For 16 i would book private transfers there are a few who proved the service, DCL is good but expensive, so i would go private. DCL buses from WDW get to the port circa 1pm not at the start. MCO >Port buses have a rolling service.

If you want to get there early, the DCL busses from the airport are the way to go. The first busses will be the first people in the port. But they are more expensive than a private transfer.

If your Friday arrival at the Orlando airport is in the afternoon or earlier I would say get a hotel at Lake Buena Vista and be able to enjoy Downtown Disney that first evening.

Looking at rates for each Friday in March, 2014, you could save from $50.00 to $100.00 a night per room by staying at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista over the Hyatt.

I can recommend Florida Towncar Service. JC provides great communication and service and will get you to the port at the time you desire. You will have the same driver(s) for each leg of the transport and can arrange a stop at the package store.

Just a fyi, the Wyndham does not guarantee room reservations even if you have paid for them in-advance (whether through them directly, Expedia, etc...)...I've had two disgusting experiences there and suggest everyone stays away from it...it's pretty much a first come, first serve hotel with terrible parking...

I've used the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista for years and have never had an issue. If I've ever found that I would arrive late, I've called the hotel directly and let them know.

I've booked rooms there through Expedia, Priceline, their website and directly with the front desk.

When I travel I always get the hotel info and call the front desk the day before I arrive to confirm. I've never been turned down at the front desk at any hotel.

Got there 3 am once, they even knew I was coming late...they actually told me they didn't have a room for me even though I prepaid...made me wait around for an hour and three rooms later I finally had something habitable...as for the non-guarantee, it's the manager's explanation, not mine...twice I have tried to reach out to Wyndham about it and both time I've been left on hold for over an hour with no one picking up (clearly just hoping I hung up which I did)...

And come on, it's known that the parking there is atrocious...

The big advantage for taking DCL transfer is no worries. They take your luggage and the next time you see it is in your cabin. Also since you are staying at the Hyatt at MCO they have a continuous roll of buses so you can get there at an earlier time. Unfortunately it is 35 pp each way. The most economical is a car service like Happy Limo, also if you want to stop along the way for something they will do it DCL won't. So it depends are you worried about convenience or price.
