transportation question

Hi all,
I feel a little silly asking this, being a relative WDW veteran. We're going in a month with a newbie couple, and will be arriving midday. We plan on giving them a tour of the resorts via monorail on the first day. My plan was to take the resort monorail with stops at GF, Poly and Contemporary, then transfer to the Epcot monorail, get off in Epcot, then bus to the Boardwalk and those associated resorts. Is there, in fact, a bus from the front of Epcot to the Boardwalk?

Thanks!

there is a bus from epcot to the boardwalk, but for alot faster service, take the resort boat from epcot to the boardwalk, and its other nearby resorts(yaht and beach, swan and dolphin). Much better ride and a lot more scenic..

You can get on the boat at the International Gateway, in World Showcase...

Thanks, Billy6. My problem is that we will end up at the Future World entrance to Epcot. Taking the boat from the International Gateway entrance to the Boardwalk would be ideal; is there a way to get from one Epcot entrance to the other without using a ticket? Do you know for a fact that there is a bus from the Epcot Future World entrance to the Boardwalk resort (once there, we were planning on walking to the other resorts)?

If there is not a bus from the front of Epcot to the Boardwalk you can take the bus to MGM and then the boat or the walking path to the Boardwalk.

Actually there is NO bus from the Boardwalk, Yacht or Beach Clubs, Swan or Dolphin, to Epcot's main enterance.
I have my trusty WDW Transportation guide in front of me right now and it says, How To Get To Epcot, Take Boat or Walk.

If you want to confirm this, please call The Boardwalk Inn directly at, 407-939-5100.

Have you considered doing things in a totally different order? Can you tour Boardwalk and other nearby associated resorts first and then take a bus from whichever resort you're at last to the Magic Kingdom? (I guarantee there is a bus for whatever resort you're at last straight to MK.)

From there, you could hop in the monorail and tour all those resorts and then take the monorail to Epcot front gate if you wanted that ride, or just look for a bus from MK back to whatever resort you're staying or or wherever your car is...

Eljay is correct. There is NO bus from Epcot to the Boardwalk. I'm an Epcot Parking CM and I tell this to guests at least 10 times per day. The best and most fun is as previously mentioned. Take a bus from Epcot to Disney-MGM Studios (Flag #1) and then either walk or take a Friendship boat. :)

We just got back from a stay at the Boardwalk Inn and there is no bus from EPCOT. You take the boat or walk to EPCOT or MGM.

You would need to use your ticket to get into EPCOT to get to the International Gateway.

How about getting off the monorail at the MK & then taking a bus to the Boardwalk. Be forwarned... there are 4 hotels that share that bus & it does get crowded; I think this would be your best bet if you are useing WDW transportation exclusivly.

I will confirm for the 4th time i think. Ther is not a bus from EPCOT to boardwalk. Last weekend I did the same thing that you are doing but I parked at boardwalk and took the bus to TTC. Upon arriving at EPCOT, I took a few pics, and then was ready to go back to boardwalk. I didnt have a ticket to get into the park so I just took the monorail back to TTC, went to MK and then took the bus from there. U get more excitement from taking the monorail plus i heard all monorail speils. It was actually fun and cheap. :hammer: :king:

This might be a stupid place to ask this and I can't believe I even need to, but I've never really been a WDW guest before, just a CM. Does anyone know if there is a bus from the Pop Century Resort to the Trans. and Ticket Center? I'm taking my boyfriend on his first trip to WDW in October and I want to get him onto the monorail for his first trip to the MK, instead of being dropped off at the bus drop-off right at the front of the park.

I beleive you would need to go to a park first.

Wow, you guys are all great. Thanks for your responses. I think I'll consider WDWCP and Polyman's advice and do the reverse order. I'd heard about the walkway between MGM and Epcot, but I've never used it.

Hi GrowingUpDisney, we're staying at the Coronado Springs Resort this time, my favorite. We've stayed at Port Orleans FQ(2), Caribbean Beach, and Animal Kingdom Lodge as well, but CSR is our home, we've stayed there 6 times.

It's a pretty long walk from MGM to Epcot. I would guess 1 to 1 1/2 miles or so? Save your feet & take the pleasant, air conditioned boat!
The boat takes approx. 30 minutes and goes from MGM to the Swan & Dolphin, then to the Yacht & Beach Clubs, the Boardwalk, then on to Epcot.
It goes in the reverse order from Epcot to MGM.

You can also take a bus, which takes less than 10 minutes
