I consider myself a rural kinda guy. Grew up farming in a small town, but have since moved to the 'big city' after college. However I still prefer to live out in the middle of nowhere away from society. DW, DS and I stayed at the Swan for one night last December and we were in way over our head. I felt completely out of place there and was glad it was just for one night (we were able to leave a day earlier than planned and all the other Disney resorts were booked so that's how we wound up there). My wife and I both felt completely out of place. We were in jeans and t-shirts, and while others were too, most of the other patrons were in nice suits and gowns. And do you all like the Swan and Dolphin rooms?
This part of my family is mostly rural people; so while the big hotels were impressive, they really liked the rustic feel of the cabins.

Glad you were able to get it all settled Paul. Have a great trip!By the way, just wanted everyone who had contributed to this thread know that we finally landed on the Swan, since it was the most flexible for our continually changing number of people.
And, when I called Disney (before the system went down) to reserve at the Swan, they did NOT have AAA rates that the Swan had quoted. So, I called Swan back directly; and not only did they have the AAA rates ($184/night during Thanksgiving), but when I asked if there were any even better rates, they asked if I worked for the government and I said yes... So, since I am government employee here in Virginia, I got a rate of $165!! (Just have to show my badge.) The Swan also let me put all three rooms in my name and get the rate for everyone; so over 5 nights and 3 rooms, I saved $300 more dollars!!
Wasn't that cool!?
So, I will have to let everyone know how our trip goes. We will be arriving on Thursday (Thanksgiving), and leaving on Tuesday. I will get to go to my first MVMCP on Monday, also...
