Hey everyone!
Yesterday I checked out Universal Studios Florida's latest additions and wanted to share my thoughts.
Transformers: The Ride 3-D was a very enjoyable experience. Yes, it is the same type of ride as The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man at IOA, but that's where the similarities end.
The Queue is set up as a military bunker for NEST and does a good job appearing as such. There are monitors everywhere to help tell the backstory of the ride before you join EVAC.
Please note I used the Single Riders line so I didn't get to see the whole queue.
The ride itself focuses less on physical sets and more on amazing fight scenes in 3-D. The picture is extremely clear and impressive thanks to 4k projectors. The battle scenes are epic and the ride's motion is quite violent, moreso than Spider-Man.
Overall Transformers is a new must do for thrill ride fans that is sure to delight fans of the series.
Springfield still isn't quite done yet, but I did get to check out the first phase of Fast Food Lane.
Please note I am not a Simpsons fan, so this is a purely neutral review.
The new resturant is set up very similarly to it's former occupant, the International Film and Food Festival. There are 5 different locations with different menus similar to a mall food court and Moe's, a bar that is it's own section.
The stalls offer chicken, burgers, sea food, pizza, a grab and go for salads and specialty drinks, including the Flaming Moe.
I tried the Chicken and Waffle sandwich, which came with tater tots, and a Flaming Moe.
The sandwich featured a very crispy chicken breast between two waffles with a maple mayo sause. I normally don't like mayo, but this sause is what set the sandwich apart. It was quite good. The tots also came with a side of maple mayo for dipping. The Flaming Moe is quite cool to look at. It's basically Tang in a specialty cup over dry ice to make it smoke. It tastes good, but it's non alcoholic, which is somewhat disappointing.
I also tried a Duff Beer from Moe's. It tasted like a cross between a Sam Adams and a Yueingling, which gave it a nice flavor.
The resturant it's self felt like a mall food court except for Moe's, which was rather elaborately themed including a pool table ( for eating on) and broken juke box.
Overall I was quite impressed with both additions and can't wait to see the rest of Springfield open later this year!
