Training for Disney Employees

Hello everyone! I'm finishing up a duel MBA here in NY and am contemplating different options I have and one of them is a move to Florida to work at Disney. I know pay and what not is not that great, but I do believe there are more important things then money.

I have a question about training though. If you get hired I know you go to a class called traditions, but what exactly is gone over in it? And are there actually more training that you get as you progress through the company?
Specific courses directed for company managers etc.

Any information would be helpful. Thanks!!

Traditions is the mandatory company orientation that covers the basic history of the company, its policies and guest service expectations/techniques. It's a required course for all Disney Cast Members and Employees for worldwide.

After this, there is more training relevant to your area. For professional positions (which I assume would be your interest), a customized learning plan is created to get you fully proficient with your role and to answer any questions that may come up in the process. As you may have guessed, this has several components and leadership development is one of them. Disney also has continual learning opportunities offered via Disney University and its online counterpart, Disney Development Connection.

Hope this helps!

You start with Traditions which goes over a number of things
1. Ra Ra Disney
2. Human resources that any large company would cover
3. Disney Differences

Then you have a park tour where you will be working
1. Ra Ra Disney
2. Human Resources that any large company would cover
3. Specific Park differences

Then you start training in your department
1. Ra Ra Disney
2. Human Resources that any large company would cover
3. Specific department differences/how to do your job in any park

Then you train in your specific park
IE: in Photopass at MK you need to know how to do the Family Fun Day Parade and the other park specific things.
IE: in Water Parks, you need to know how to use a camera in a water bag.

Sadly, at Disney, they do not continue to train you when you switch parks. So you spend the first 2 months getting in trouble for things you didn't know you weren't supposed to do.
