I was on the phone with my friend, who is in Disney right now....he told me that while waiting for the train at Conservation Station in AK, the train "derailed"...leaving them stranded, since they could not walk back

eventually, Disney provided them with a tram to get back to the central part of AK

The bad news just keeps coming and coming, doesn't it? lol.
At this point there is no proof this even happened. No offense to the OP but he is new, and therefore has no reputation. I am not doubting you just saying I won't yet treat it as fact. Also it is possible that somewhere along the way guests, cast, or simply the principle of the telephone game may have misinterpreted a minor breakdown into a derail.

I see the word "derail" and think worst case scenario. I suppose a malfunction on the track or with the train would stop the train for awhile. But derail to means the train falling off the tracks. Hoepfully it's a minor problem and the goats will still be able to brushed!! :zipit:

A derailment isn't as infrequent as people imagine where trains are concerned and it usually isn't catastrophic. It simply means that one or more axles on a train came off the rail.

That is true. And if the OP's info is correct this would not be the first time this has happened at AK.
