Trailers demo'ed, location?

From the looks of those permits, it looks like a break room trailer, now I can't put my finger on it, but it could be the trailer behind WoL. That trailer is also the break trailer for Mission: Space. Maybe they are giving them an actual break "room" and not a decrepit trailer. I've been in there twice, once for a M:S merchandise shift and another for Segway training, and couldn't believe the appearance of that trailer.

Actually, Florida has one unified building code. Some specifications will change, mainly wind code, depending on proximity to the ocean, rivers, cleared land etc but the counties no longer have the ability to change the codes as they see fit. Now of course this is how it is on the books. In practice it seems like each county decides which codes they want to enforce and of course if you read the code to 5 different people you will get 5 different interpretations.

Thanks for watching my back... :D

I was about ready to get in a throw down with Master Yoda if you hadn't stepped in and stopped it...

As a side note though it is good to hear that Florida has unified codes, I wish everyone adopted the same standards and then had different methods for coastal, wind, earthquake areas etc.

It would be nice but you wouldn't believe the nightmare it was to get it done in Florida and it still is not really right yet. I can't imagine trying to get it done on a national scale.

I bet, as you stated earlier if you talk to a few different people you will get multiple opinions. How do you try and get these same people to agree on a standard? It seems like it even takes people years to adapt themselves to new codes once they are issued, usually by the time new codes come out everyone had just gotten used to the old set...

I know it would be a mess to get it right but once all of the bugs were worked out a national building code would be the best for everyone.

And to get back on topic I think the trailers are being removed as this will be the new location for the wand once it is taken down.

Man... I hope they don't get rid of the WDI trailers in the back of AK... It was a nice site to see on the way back to the boat dock... and to fill up the trucks.... just a nice site to see....

They won't get rid of the trailers, but they already got rid of WDI. There is just AK management in there now. And the local Ride and Show group.

With the varied climates of the US, I don't think they could do it. Why would FL need the roof pitches of those who have to deal with snow? Are there as many earthquakes in FL as say.. CA? And let's not forget the hurracane standard of the gulf coast as opposed to Minnesota. A "National Plan"? No. A "Regional Plan"? Maybe.

Dang... when they moved me to MGM, I had no time at all to find out what was going on at AK... I hated working MGM Entertainment... still do in fact... yep... that feeling is not going away right now.

I was hoping they were the other trailers between Wonders and WDI, suggesting possible re-use of Wonders. Oh well, alteast there are still rumors out there about Wonders. Current one is that it gets gutted, the show buildings walled up, and it gets repainted to become a special events pavilion.
Just what we need. How many will that give Epcot, three is it. Maybe they just need to make Epcot a special events park.
And there`s us thinking we had a new management team with new ideas..... at this rate the whole park will be special events with a few attractions inbetween.

So sad.
Not much of a vision on upper managements part, is it.
You would be surprised at how many things you technically are required to file a permit for in the state of Florida. Disney lives under a microscope so they have to cross every T and dot every I.
They made all those concessions to get them there now the State wants to nickle, and dime them to death. It just doesn't seem right to have to get permits to tear down what were obviously temporary structures. I guess it's pretty much like that in all the States. Just another way of collecting money from the citizens. Ultimately it is the consumer who ends up paying for these permits.

Very true, but I stated these problems in an earlier post.

I know were off topic but...

Having a set national standard with local ordinances for extreme conditions is what I was getting at. Earthquake zones would need special attention, coastal areas, high wind areas etc... Obviously there always has to be exceptions due to some extreme building conditions and that is what we were talking about as far as logistically implementing a system like this.

I know it would be a major undertaking but the NEC and NFPA codes work just fine on a national level already, structurally is where the problems come in.

Also do not forget when you put 5 professional engineers in a room and ask them to add 2 and 2 you will get 5 different answers and all of them will insist that their conclusion is the correct one.

One of the biggest road blocks in unifying Florida's code was Miami/Dade county. They wanted their code, which IMHO borders on insane, to be applied to the entire state. Now imagine 50 states each of which will have their own "Miami/Dade county" extremists. By the time you got the country on one unified code you would have so many regional changes and exclusions you would end up with the same system we currently have.
