Trading Tickets??

My friends and I are on our way to WDW on July 29 (YAY first trip w/out the parents!!!) My question is, we have a whole bunch of leftover days on various tickets. One of the guys going says we can bring them all to guest relations or somewhere like that and upgrade them to 4day park hopper plusses so we dont have to buy all new tickets, we would just have to pay the difference... Is this for real??

well almost. Say you have 6 tickets with 1 day each on them. you can trade them in for 6 new tickets with 1 day on them. what you can do is then upgrade one of the tickets to a 4 day hopper, and then pay the difference. but no, you can trade them all in for one single ticket. Do you know what is on each ticket? or how many tickets you have?

Cool! That's my Birthday. Wish I was going to WDW on July 29th also. Now I'll be thinking about people going to WDW instead of enjoying my birthday at home, oh well. Have fun.

hey spiderman, you can come with us and we'll celebrate ur bday
the more the merrier...

WDWmaniac... i have no idea where im staying. im not in charge of that LOL but i have never stayed on the property before. i bet its awesome!!

Ok lets see if i grasp this. Lets pretend that i have 3 tickets with 3 days on them and like 4 tickets with one day each. What you are saying is that I can NOT combine them to be as if i had 13 days. right? I could upgrade each individual ticket, but not the set as a whole...
We'll figure it out eventually (im just trying to figure out how much money i should expect to spend on my ticket...)

correct. you cannot combine them. (which sucks, I know.) so what you can do is upgrade one with 3 days on it, and pay the difference. but I would trade all the old ones in for a new one, since they might be really old, outdated tickets. I hope I didn't confuse you!

You're absolutely correct. I still have some MK/Epcot tickets. I can't use them for MGM or AK. And I have a "child's" ticket that includes MGM (but not AK) so it would have to be traded up to an adult ticket (none of my children are children anymore...at least by WDW standards!)

When did they start the "non-combining" rule? We used to do it every year when we went down. For example:

We had 5 park hopper passes with 1 day left on each.

At GR, they would combine the 5 days into one 5 day park hopper.

They've always done this for us, every time we've been down.

WRONG.

I presented very old (pre AK) tickets at the AK gate June 2nd. They sent me to Guest Relations where I had to exchange them for current tickets. Which I presented at the gate and was able to enter. They were very nice about it.
