Trading Pins Question

Hi -
I am wondering if we are staying at a Disney Resort, if they will have our first visit and birthday pins there for us when we check in?

The first visit and birthday buttons are not trading pins. They are buttons for you to wear during your trip, and take home for a keepsake if you'd like. And yes, you can get them when you check in if you are staying at a Disney resort.

We celebrated two birthdays last year on our trip to Disneyworld. When we checked in they asked us if we were celebrating any special occasion and we told them two birthdays on the same day. They gave us two birthday pins and wrote our names on the pins. When later my sons name rubbed off his pin we returned to the check-in desk and they gave him a new pin and wrote his name on it.

I would go on eBay and buy maybe 10-20 pins for a dollar a piece to start off a small collection and just trade in WDW to build up a collection if you are interested in Disney's pins. :shrug:

Absolutely! I always buy four or five pins from this Ebay seller ( disneypinmad ) for friends who are going to WDW for the first time. I do the "pick your own size lot" and the pins cost $1.25 each. That way, if my friends don't enjoy pin trading, there isn't a lot of $$ invested in them (pins typically cost $6 - $15.)

Just be sure once you've picked your lot to put a note in with your payment that says "I know this is a "grab bag lot" but I'm buying these for a 4 year old girl who loves Princesses and a 10 year old boy who loves Star Wars." If you do that, they have ALWAYS sent me just the pins I was looking for. If you don't, well........ you get some interesting pins!
