This is a great thread with awesome info. I'm excited to try it for the first time next week!
You can always ask.The no prices on the the menu did effect what I orderd because I didn't want to be blind sided with the check. Agree they were the weakest drinks I have had, ever. I was even questioning if I ordered a non alcohol drink by mistake. This was not an enjoyable experience for us the CM were not into the act and the whole getting a table that everyone fit on when it opened was a hassle I didn't need. The "show" for us that night was after we left. A couple I would say who were in their 50's were in a huge argument. The wife was livid that the DH had ordered 2 Natulius drinks and was flipping out over the price. At the time I was thinking it was rude of Disney not to have prices on the menu but my DD pointed out at the Captains Grille that none of the standard drink menus at WDW have prices.
I don't know the answer. I do know it's fairly common though. Like is said above, I always figure a $20-25 range if not listed and a "specialty drink", but now I ask to prevent ordering anything higher than that.So I don't drink and will never go in this place, but someone help me understand. What is the thinking behind not listing prices and why would you order something with such price variation as mixed drinks without knowing how much it is?

I have no idea the reasoning behind it and if I remember right the Trader Sams at DL also does not list prices. What I can tell tell you it did not create a magical experience for that couple. The wife was complaining loudly in the restroom that her DH had been taken, a complete rip off.
Funny (somewhat on topic) story-Thank you both. Good thing I don't drink I suppose, but I am way to thrifty (tight) to ever order from a menu with no prices.
Wow! And there was a second date?Funny (somewhat on topic) story-
I like martinis. I'm also a lightweight so usually only drink one..sometimes order 2, but can't finish the second. So anyway, my favorite bar in Ft Lauderdale had the best martinis and they came with a side car-- perfect size for me!
The first time I went on a date with my husband I chose that bar for a pre dinner cocktail. (No prices on their menu) this is back in 2004. I ordered a Key Lime Martini, he ordered a beer.
The bartender handed us the check and my drink was $25. I'll never forget the look on his face!!lol. We always joked about it.
I just totally got a craving for a Publix deli sandwich. Oh I miss that place.Wow! And there was a second date?
Publix had soft drinks on sale a couple of weeks ago for four 12 packs of drinks for $12, so that $25 dollars would have gotten me about 100 cans of Coke Zero. Yep, glad I don't drink.
Yes, we like Publix deli. Had a footlong Boar's Head Ultimate Sub a couple of days ago. That thing was good, and packed to overflowing with all the goodies. I drink too many diet drinks and I know the artificial sweeteners have to be bad for you, but giving up regular, sugar-laden soft drinks was hard enough...it will take a while to give up diet drinks.I just totally got a craving for a Publix deli sandwich. I don't buy soda or juice, so I save money with that
I gave up soda for Lent back in the early 2000s.. I then realized that I was fine without it and just stopped buying it on grocery trips.Yes, we like Publix deli. My doctor actually said it is better to go ahead and indulge in the diet drinks than to slip up and go back to regular cokes, and being type 2 diabetic, I need to keep hydrated. Now yes, she would prefer I drink much more water, and I am making an effort at it, but can't seem to shake the fizz right now.
I can relate. We went to watch the Blue Angels fly a little while back and it was hot on that tarmac. I just had to have one of the freshly squeezed lemonades one of the vendors was selling. I only had about half of it and my wife was kind enough to finish the rest, but my sugar spiked for a couple of days after that. No telling how much sugar was in that cup, but there was plenty of freshly squeezed lemon, so they had to sweeten it. The next time we went to the airshow, I did not even slow down at that vendor tent.I gave up soda for Lent back in the early 2000s.. I'm not saying that I never drink it, I love a Diet Coke with pizza, and every once in a while have a craving for a Ginger Ale. I just don't buy more than a 20oz. I like fruit infused waters, and have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to it.lol. BUT- we go to an amusement park weekly Spring thru Fall, and I do drink lemonade or raspberry tea there, which isn't any better than a soda...worse than a diet one actually.
I just clicked on that. Lots of missing prices. There is one that says $52. I don't care what is in that drink, I would never, ever even consider that. You just blew my mind. $52 dollars? Not even if it was served in souvenir Waterford Crystal. I'm gonna have another cup of coffee. About .35 cents per cup when I buy the K-cups on sale.Wow! It is amazing how many of the prices are blank on that website too.
Annoying.
If you like "fizz" try San Pellegrino or Perrier, the unflavored, and squeeze some fresh lime. It's delicious! Buy it next time it's on sale at Publix.. I do order water with lime on the side and squeeze in some lime juice sometimes when we go out. Guess that is a healthier alternative. One point for me.
And, the price for that drink is usually "no charge."
Check out what I am drinking with a chicken salad I made the other day: I posted this in the working out thread a few days ago.If you like "fizz" try San Pellegrino or Perrier, the unflavored, and squeeze some fresh lime. I don't order it too often at dinner or lunch, usually just the free water with lemon or lime. I once added up how much I saved by ordering water at lunch for a year.. It's impressive. Now if I have a Bloody Mary or Mojito, that doesn't help as much
